IIT Roorkee Develops a New Project to Build an Advanced Packaging Research Laboratory

New Delhi: IIT Roorkee will start a new project to establish an Advanced Packaging Research Laboratory and a skill-development programme at the Department of Paper Technology, Saharanpur Campus.

The most recent project is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Shah Paper Mills Limited that will be established under its auspices. In order to deliver cutting-edge innovative research and talent development, IIT Roorkee is further collaborating with paper industries from India.

In order to encourage research and development on certain specific requirements of companies, the IIT Roorkee Development Foundation (IITRDF) is attempting to reduce the gap between industry and academia. With the assistance of the IIT Roorkee faculty, it will be accomplished.

IITRDF would support the Institute's quest for excellence by acting as a bridge between both the Institute and donors, according to Professor KK Pant, Director of IIT Roorkee, who was signing an agreement between the Institute and a paper mill. A second such relationship in this direction is what we have with Shah Paper Mills Limited.

The joint managing director's shared vision demonstrates the company's strong commitment to long-term sustainability through the application of best practices for the circular economy and environmental awareness.

IIT Roorkee and Shah Paper Mills Ltd. have formed a strategic alliance as a result of the Memorandum of Understanding.
