New Delhi: IIT Patna has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) Mumbai to launch a Dual Degree program in Bachelor of Technology and Master of Business Administration.
As per IIT Patna, this partnership aims to satisfy three different needs: first is strengthening students' techno-managerial skills. Technical institutions are where students may hone their specialised talents, while NITIE in Mumbai is where they can hone their managerial skills.
Second, there is a growing need for AI/ML applications in the corporate world and on the market, therefore working together will help students strengthen their analytical skills. Thirdly, because NITIE is the hub for the PM Gati Shakti programme, the partner institutions may work together and boost the logistics and supply chain sector.
Therefore, the integrated dual degree programme at NITIE Mumbai needs to be developed in a collaborative manner in order to meet the demand for creating techno-managers in the logistics and supply chain field.
The IIT Patna and NITIE Mumbai campuses will be the location of this five years full-time residential programme. The prerequisite coursework will begin in the third year for interested and qualified students, along with the BTech coursework.
To complete the programme, the students will transfer to the NITIE Mumbai campus during the eighth semester. The IIT Patna will confer BTech and MBA degrees. Industrial Management, which leads to an MBA, and Industrial Engineering are the two lines of speciality offered by NITIE, Mumbai.
