IIT Madras, Tata Power sign MoU to Collaborate on R&D, Training, Tech Solutions: Read More Here


Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has collaborated with Tata Power to jointly work on research and development (R&D), consultancy, policy advocacy, advisory, training, and commercialization of technologies and solutions. 

Under the collaboration, IIT Madras and Tata Power will aim to conduct research and development work in the field of future technologies. 

IIT Madras and Tata Power will work together on various collaborative research projects. The research-based and consulting projects will be supported by the Center for Industrial Consultancy and Sponsored Research (IC&SR), IIT Madras.

Referring to the initiative of IIT Madras, Bhaskar Ramamurthi, Director, IIT Madras, said: “IIT Madras is delighted to partner with Tata Power to pursue research in topics of mutual interest and national importance and provide opportunities for employees to acquire advanced knowledge in emerging areas".

Following the Memorandum of Understanding, Tata Power will offer IIT Madras graduate students with various job opportunities. Students will have the opportunity to apply for various full-time employment or internships at Tata Power. 

Additionally, the collaboration will provide an opportunity for employees of Tata Power to enroll in various degree and diploma programs of the institute. Interested applicants can apply for IIT Madras programs like MTech, MS, and Ph.D., etc

Following the MoU, IIT Madras and Tata Power will launch short-term and long-term training programs for students of the institute as well as for employees of the company. The program will be provided on topics of mutual interest. 

Highlighting the key points of this collaboration, Praveer Sinha, CEO and MD, Tata Power, stated: “We are honored to associate with IIT Madras. Together, we will collaborate in areas of advanced technology, innovation, and knowledge for sustainable changes".

While Talking about the collaboration, IIT Madras stated that various steps will be taken by both parties in order to offer benefits to the students and employees. The collaboration will bring forth new employment opportunities for the students of IIT Madras.
