New Delhi: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has successfully concluded its placement season of 2022-23, where a total of 1,128 students got placed in the first phase of placement. The highest domestic package offered to students stood at Rs 1.9 crore.
The IIT Kanpur placement season of 2022-23 Phase 1 began on December 1 and 1128 students have accepted job offers including 208 PPOs (pre-placement offers).
On day 3 of placements, 74 students bagged international offers including 33 offers above Rs 1 crore from top recruiters such as BCG, Bain & Company, and Capital One among others. The institute recorded 808 offers on the third day of the phase 1 placement drive 2022.
Informing about the placement data, Professor Abhay Karandikar, Director of IIT Kanpur said, “We’re delighted with the number of offers that have come our way at the start of the placement season 2022-23".
"The overall uptick in packages offered and new recruiters joining in, signifies the growing trust the recruiters have in IIT Kanpur. We’re confident of yet another successful season as we progress through the days" he further added.

Approximately 250+ companies, including 35+ startups, participated in phase 1 placement and offered 1200 jobs. More than 60 companies extended 208 PPOs which is 33% more as compared to last year's PPOs.
This year, the highest payout offered domestically is Rs 1.9 crore, while there are many packages from international recruiters as well. A total of 33 job offers to total more than Rs 1 crore has been made to the students.
The highest packages were USD 287,550 for international candidates and Rs 1.2 crore for domestic candidates at the end of Phase I of the placement season 2021–22 last year. This season, IIT Kanpur has accepted 74 offers from abroad, compared to 47 offers from abroad the year before.
