New Delhi: Indian Institute of Technology, Jodhpur hosted an international conference named 'Next-gen AI: Inspiration from Brain science' (NAiBS-2023) from January 26-28, 2023. The topic of the conference was the use of Artificial General Intelligence(AGI) Systems.
Over 100 participants from top institutes like IIT Gandhinagar, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, Imperial college London, Friedrich-Schiller- Univetsitat Jena, University of Petroleum Studies Deharadun, AIIMS Delhi, IIIT Hyderabad attended the event. Academicians such as Tomaso Poggio, Nancy Kanwisher, Susan Goldin-Meadow, Subbarao Kambhampati and many others hosted the conference at IIT Jodhpur.
The three-day conference included various events like summit talks, round-table discussions and poster presentation on core AI and AGI to neuroscience.
NAiBS 2023 conference aimed to give a platform to national and international experts to speak about the use of green and ethical AI along with the importance of converging modalities in the design of next-gen AI systems.
The models of brain functioning discussed at the conference include language development, learning, memory, visual perception, object recognition, perception, attention, ageing, multi-sensory processing, brain imaging, nature of inspired algorithms, theoretical and computational neuroscience, intelligent machines that mimic human performance and cognitive computing for assistive technologies among others.
