IIT Jodhpur

New Delhi: Rishabh Instruments Limited and the Ivaan Foundation inked a contract with the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur (IITJ) to establish the "Rishab centre for research and innovation in renewable energy." Santanu Chaudhury, director of IIT Jodhpur, together with Narendra Goliya, managing director and chairman of Rishabh Instruments Limited, and Ivaan Foundation signed the deal.

The main goal of the research centre is to facilitate basic and applied research by utilising the faculty and researchers' wealth of expertise at IIT Jodhpur and to open doors for collaboration with other educational institutions, technological hubs, startups, and companies located across the nation.

In order to create the required infrastructure and numerous research laboratories in the centre, the Ivaan foundation has committed to giving the institute financial support totaling roughly Rs 70 crores over the next three to five years. Through programmes, the centre hopes to be able to facilitate team research and foster the creation of fresh, improved technologies for use in the future.

The Rishab Center for Research and Innovation in Clean Energy has the following goals:

  • To support startups and Ministry of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in identified areas of clean and green energy technologies.
  • To conduct and promote basic and applied research and innovation in identified areas of clean and green energy.
  • To nurture entrepreneurship in identified areas of clean and green energy.

Narendra Goliya, managing director and chairman of Ivaan Foundation and Rishabh Instruments Limited, spoke at the signing of the agreement "With the goal of creating new technologies that promise a cleaner future for India and the entire world, I'm excited to announce that we are establishing a Centre for Research and Innovation in Clean Energy. In IIT Jodhpur, we found a very capable partner with goals that align with ours. Over the course of the following three years, the centre will be constructed and run on the grounds of IIT Jodhpur."

He went on to say, "The faculty at IIT Jodhpur is youthful and dedicated, and they are eager to collaborate with researchers in the fields of innovative technologies that are urgently needed in today's society. The nations that have an adequate supply of energy are either uncompetitive in terms of price and dependability or pollute and suffer from significant transmission and distribution losses. In order to encourage the researchers and faculty at IIT Jodhpur to put these innovations to commercial use, academia will also make sure that the majority of the technology they generate have commercial applications and utilisation. We are confident that the centre will achieve its stated goals and inspire other firms to establish similar research centres under the guidance of IIT Jodhpur and Rishabh Instruments."
