New Delhi: AIIMS Jodhpur has collaborated with IIT Jodhpur to offer Master’s, PhD and Master’s-PhD dual degree programs in medical technologies. The last date to apply for admission to joint degree programs of the institutes is June 15, 2022.
As per IIT Jodhpur, the collaboration with AIIMS Jodhpur will offer students an opportunity to work in the emerging areas of healthcare and technologies under the guidance of experienced faculty members of both institutes.
IIT Jodhpur officials said, "This is the first program in India in which medical professionals and engineers can learn and share knowledge under a trans-disciplinary academic umbrella. The program is designed to cater to the emerging needs of innovation in healthcare technologies".
Under this partnership, IIT Jodhpur and AIIMS Jodhpur will aim to offer various programs to interested students with the goal of nurturing a workforce with multi-dimensional capabilities in creative thinking and deep knowledge.
Interested applicants who wish to apply for Master’s, PhD and Master’s-PhD dual degree programs are required to submit their applications on the official institute's website. The selection of applicants will be done based on a written test and interview round.
Santanu Chaudhury, Director, IIT-Jodhpur, said, “Our country has the best doctors, best engineers, and the will to improve patient management. With a focussed and combined effort, I am sure, we can fire up the innovations in the medical technology ecosystem.”
Adding to the statement, Shradha Suman, Student of Masters in Medical Technologies, IIT Jodhpur and AIIMS Jodhpur, stated that the MedTech program is a great opportunity for students to learn in-depth about the healthcare industry and its innovation.
With this program, interested participants can learn to build ideas about various healthcare startups. “The ecosystem of IIT Jodhpur and AIIMS Jodhpur motivated me to identify an unmet need during the clinical immersion and develop an indigenous technology solution" she added.
