New Delhi: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad has received 508 offers during its placement drive which was held from December 1 and December 7, 2022. During phase 1 of the placement session, a total of 144 recruiters offered job offers to students.
As per IIT Hyderabad, 54 overseas offers were received by the students, which is more than the number of offers made the previous year, despite widespread IT layoffs (which was 46). Similar to last year, Japan and Taiwan were among the top employers of IIT Hyderabad students this year.
In addition to this, a total of 13 international companies have registered for the placement drive, compared to approximately 12 in phases 1 and 2 of the academic session of 2021-22.
This year, the industries offered placement offers for engineering, IT/software, finance, and consulting roles. For the ongoing Phase-1 placements, the highest package for this year is Rs 63.78 lakh, and the average package stood at Rs 19.49 lakh. Most offers have been released by the business Blend 360.
As per the officials, this was the first BTech graduating class in the AI department, and within the first week of the placement process, 82% of the graduates were placed. The number of students choosing semester-long internships has also climbed, from 33 last year to 51 this year.
With 99 Pre-Placement Offers (PPO), up from 82 PPOs the year before, the placement season got off to a strong start. The second phase of placements is currently anticipated to begin in January 2023.
