New Delhi: IIT Hyderabad entered into an agreement with the NMIPCPS (National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems) and the Technology Innovation Hub on Autonomous Navigation (TiHAN), to provide commercial availability of the Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) kits.
This agreement is specifically to benefit utilisation by the target institutes, industry and interested students.
Professor B S Murthy, Director at the IIT Hyderabad and Dr. K R Murali Mohan, Mission Director, NMICPS, Department of Science & Technology, launched the logo and brochure for TiHAN. During the ceremony, they also launched the UGV and UAV kits specially designed for the purpose of skill development activities of the hub.

While discussing TiHAN, Professor Murthy has explained that TiHAN has always been at the forefront of innovation in the assigned technology vertical of the Autonomous Navigation & Data Acquisition Systems and fulfilling the target goals of the National Mission.
“TiHAN has made significant progress since its inception and development of a testbed for autonomous vehicles, which is the first of its kind by an institute in India, is a testimony to its technological capabilities”, Professor Murthy further added.
So far, TiHAN has progressed remarkably and currently the focus is on elevating the hub to the next level through effective partnerships with the professional industry and startups. This is to ensure the possibility of transnational research and commercialisation of technological developments.
Sharing the current updates on the project, Professor P Rajalakshmi, Project Director, TiHAN, IIT Hyderabad, explained that it has been leading the research and development in the assigned vertical and will work closely with the other stakeholders such as PSUs, Government institutes, R&D organisations along with start ups.

- Candidates must be less than 45 years old
- Candidates must provide NOC from the parent organisation
- Candidates will receive Rs. 25000/ per month up to 2 years
- Candidates need to send their work for periodic progress review and the fellowship will depend on the performance
- Contingency or Research Grant will be Rs. 5,00,000/ per month
