New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad has successfully completed its placement season of the Electrical Engineering department for the academic session 2023-24, where it recorded 508 offers, along with 54 international offers.
During the phase 1 of IIT Hyderabad campus placements 2022, a total of 144 companies made offers to Electrical Engineering students. Despite global IT layoffs, the institute managed to grab 54 international offers, which is higher than the number of offers compared to 46 offers that were made last year.

BTech in the Electrical Engineering department has seen a modest increase in the average salary from INR 26.1 lakh per annum in 2021 to INR 27.86 lakh per annum in the academic year 2022. However, the overall number of offers and the proportion of students who were placed dropped from 95 to 81. (for both categories).
Earlier, in 2021, the average pay has dropped from Rs 26.82 lakh per year in 2020 to INR 26.1 lakh per annum. Along with an increase from 101 to 117 for the overall number of students, the total number of offers have risen from 64 to 95. After a sharp increase from INR 21.6 lakh per year in 2019 to INR 26.82 lakh per year in 2020, this fall in the average pay was observed.
This was also the time when the overall student population went from 87 to 101, and even the number of registered students went up from 79 to 95, but the number of applicants who were placed dropped from 66 to 64.
IIT Hyderabad EE Overall Placements 2023
The Pre-Placement Offers (PPO) were given to 18 Electrical Engineering (EE) students in 2022, with the highest CTC of INR 63.78 lakh provided to 2 EE students. This year's first phase of the placement process, which took place between December 1 and 7, 2022, resulted in 508 offers in total. This year, Japan and Taiwan hired the majority of IIT Hyderabad students. A total of 13 international companies have registered so far, compared to approximately 12 in phases 1 and 2 of last year (2021-22).
