Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar’s Curiosity Lab and Centre for Cognitive and Brain Sciences is organizing an online camp to introduce cognitive science, artificial intelligence, and neuroscience to school students, teachers, and parents.
The main motto of IIT Gandhinagar’s ‘Camp CogSci’ is to create eagerness, excitement, and fun during learning for students of classes between 8 and 12, teachers, parents, and scholars of education.
The sessions are aimed at exposing students to the professional and educational possibilities that exist today within the area of Cognitive Science.
IIT Gandhinagar’s Camp 'CogSci’ has been scheduled to commence from January 7 to 9, 2022. Candidates interested to attend the cognitive science (CogSci) sessions can register by visiting the website, curiositylab.iitgn.ac.in/camp.
The Camp CogSci (Cognitive Science) will expose the students on how the researchers study the mind, brain, behavior, and cognitive processes such as attention, perception, learning, and decision-making.
Speaking about the CogSci session, Jaison A Manjaly, Principal Investigator, Curiosity Lab, IIT Gandhinagar, said that the curiosity camps provide an opportunity for school students, teachers, and parents to discover the possibility offered by Cognitive Science in diverse fields of science and technology, and society.
Manjaly said that these Curiosity Camps focus on introducing novel perspectives in learning while creating awareness of the multiple career paths that exist and are supported by institutions such as the IITs.
Further, the participants can get an insight about the mysteries of the brain and gain knowledge about the scientific research and opportunities. These camps also offer opportunities for school students to interact with expert faculty from higher educational institutions.
