New Delhi: Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITG) has been designated as a nodal institute in Gujarat to facilitate exposure tours to the youth of Gujarat and Assam as a part of "Yuva Sangam" programme run by the Ministry of Education under “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” (EBSB) initiative by the Government of India.
The IIT Gandhinagar has planned to conduct the inaugural ceremony and orientation function on February 24, 2023, in the presence of Prof Rajat Moona, Director, IITG.

With the help of this initiative, the youth of the North-Eastern States and the rest of India will be able to interact with one another and develop empathy. In order to engage with the youth in these states and experience different sides of art, culture, life, and monuments, 53 students and off-campus youth from Gujarat will visit Assam, and 18 student and off-campus youth from Assam will travel to Gujarat with their respective state officers.

The 18 Assam students, off-campus youth, and accompanying officers will travel to various locations in Gujarat, between February 24 and March 2, 2023, to gain an immersive multi-dimensional exposure under five broad categories: Paryatan (Tourism), Parampara (Traditions), Pragati (Development), Prodyogiki (Technology), and Paraspar Sampark (People-to-people connect).

A total of 53 students and off-campus youth from different Gujarati districts have been chosen by IITGN and will be hosted by IIT Guwahati during their tour to Assam.

This extensive cultural exchange programme is being organised in cooperation with numerous other ministries and departments, including the Department of Development for North-East Region (DoNER), Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and others, to provide our nation's youth with an opportunity to celebrate the ancient culture and natural diversity of India as well as to understand the Art culture and languages of different states.
