Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi is all set to deliver the fourth SciTech Spins lecture titled “Unraveling Nature: From the Galaxies to the Quantum Realm” for school students on December 18, 2021.
The SciTech Spins is an academic outreach initiative by IIT Delhi for the school students especially from classes 9th - 12th.
Professors Suprit Singh, Abhishek Muralidhar Iyer and Tarun Sharma from the Department of Physics, IIT Delhi will explain about the universe and its history to the students during the SciTech Spins lecture.
Further, there will be discussions regarding the following questions,
- Can electrons walk through walls?
- What do atoms look like?
- Why does matter have a mass?
- How can the sky be used as a laboratory?
Professor Suprit Singh will walk the students through the tour of the universe from its beginnings, in the first part titled “A Brief History of the Universe: From the Big Bang to the Present.”
While Muralidhar Iyer and Tarun Sharma will deliver the second part of the lecture, who will take the students into the world of elementary particles.
Meanwhile, the IIT Delhi has notified to live stream the SciTech Spins lecture on its official YouTube channel.
Earlier in November 2021, the 3rd SciTech Spins lecture titled “Materials that Matter” accompanied by laboratory demonstrations was held, which received an amazing response from the spectators.
The inauguralSciTech Spins lecture titled ‘Design Thinking- A Powerful Tool for Problem Solving’, second lecture titled “Learning to Learn Through Modeling” were held in the month of September and October 2021, respectively.
Further, the institute will provide e-certificates to all registered students nominated by their respective schools who will attend the SciTech Spins lecture.
The registered students will also be invited to 'Open House', an annual intellectual fest organized by IIT Delhi, that provides an ideal platform to school students to interact with some of the leading researchers in the domain of Science and Technology.
