IIT Delhi's Honorary Professor Conferred With Padma Shri Award 2022: Read Full Report Here


New Delhi: IIT Delhi's Honorary Faculty Member, Professor Dr. Dilip T Shahani has been recently nominated for India's highest civilian award, Padma Shri Award 2022. His name was added for his various contributions in the field of education. 

Congratulating the professor for his accomplishments, IIT Delhi officially tweeted that Dr. Dilip T Shahani has been in the position of HoD twice and has also received awards for ‘Excellence in teaching’ and ‘Technology development and transfer in electromagnetic systems’.

Professor has secured a silver medal from IIT Kharagpur and has completed his Ph.D. degree from IIT Delhi itself. With his great accomplishments, IIT Delhi Faculty Member, Professor Dr. Dilip T Shahani deserves to be nominated for the award of great honor, the institute said.

Talking about the achievements of Dr. Dilip T Shahani, IIT Delhi stated that the professor has worked on numerous assignments of the institute. He has further contributed as an Election Commission of India technical expert for several years.

Earlier in 2017, the professor was also nominated for the National Award for Best Electoral Practices for his work in various domains. The institute expressed his gratitude towards the professor, by stating that it's an honor to have such a hard-working staff at the institute. 

In addition, the alumni of IIT Kanpur, Dr. Anil K Rajvanshi has also been awarded Padma Shri Award 2022 for his contribution in the field of grassroots. He has contributed his years to sustainability and rural development in the country. 

Some of the prominent work of Dr. Anil includes renewable energy-based cooking and lighting, power generation from agricultural residues, electric cycle rickshaws, water purification, and effluent treatment through renewable energy among others.
