IIT BHU introduces B.Tech in Hindi Language


The Director of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and Chairman of Rajbhasha (official language) Committee, Prof Pramod Kumar Jain, has said that the institute has been preparing to start a B-Tech first year course in Hindi language. 

As per latest updates, IIT (Banaras Hindu University) took this decision in accordance with the new National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which will promote teaching in the mother tongue so that the students may easily grasp what is being taught in class.

Further, while explaining the reason for the move, the Director said that as per NEP, the medium of instruction and education should be mother tongue. So, the concerned language of the region should be respected if entrepreneurship is to be promoted. Moreover, he congratulated the university officials for working in Hindi Language and appealed to expedite work to begin classroom teaching.

IIT BHU Course, Fee and Selection Criteria 

The Vice-Chairman of the official language implementation committee of IIT BHU, Prof Anil Kumar Tripathi, pointed out the importance of Hindi language, while the registrar of IIT BHU, Rajan Shrivastava highlighted the work done in the institute in Hindi in the academic year 2020-21. 

According to the new National Education Policy 2020, India will have the highest population of youth in the world over the next decade, and the country’s ability to provide high-quality educational opportunities to the youngsters will determine the country's future. This way, it will also promote learning in mother tongue and regional languages to remove inequality and discrimination.
