IISc Bangalore CeNSE 2nd-year Students will Receive Sponsored Fellowship from Applied Materials India


New Delhi: Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore has signed an MoU with Applied Materials India Private Limited to offer sponsored fellowships to 2nd-year M.Tech students. The program has already started for the session 2022-23. 


IISc Bangalore Centre for Nano Science and Engineering (CeNSE) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Applied Materials India Private Limited for sponsored fellowships. 

The fellowship program is for students who have taken admission into the M.Tech programme and are in the second year of the course in the current academic year.

The fellowship program aims at supporting the progressing semi-conductor industry in India. It offers science and engineering department students to gain knowledge and expertise in electronics and semiconductor technology. 

Talking about the MoU, Professor Srinivas Raghavan, CeNSE, IISc, announced officially, “We look forward to the positive impact the collaboration can bring, especially in the areas of mechanical, electrical, materials and chemical engineering, physical and chemical sciences. The initiative will connect the students to highly trained tech professionals and make them industry ready” 

“There is an increased need for highly skilled tech workers to support the AI computing era. We aim to provide a major boost to the innovation ecosystem as a result of the collaboration. Students can gain specialized skills through the fellowship, which can help lead to incredible career opportunities.”, was also added by Suraj Rengarajan, Managing Director and CTO, Applied Materials India. 

IISc Bangalore CeNSE fellowship 2022: Highlights 

The duration of the fellowship is 2 years for second year M.Tech course students belonging to mechanical, electrical, and chemical engineering streams of CeNSE are eligible for the fellowship. 

The fellowship will give opportunities to research engineering. It will also help students gain an internship offer in Applied Materials India Private Limited. 

Professor Srinivas Raghavan, CeNSE, IISc, told that the fellowship program is a great opportunity for students. This program will enlighten students to work with high-tech professionals which will prepare them for the industry.
