IIM Rohtak IPM Test: A Way Forward For Conducting Exams During COVID

IPMAT test format was based on Open Book and Open Notes with 60 MCQs in 45 minutes. It had 20 Questions, each from Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning and English Language. The test was more about speed and intelligence, with 45 minutes to cover all the questions. Apart from this, students also had to write two short essays, each one with a word limit of 250 words. This was allotted with an extra 30 minutes to cover.

IPMAT was a success overall with only 79 glitches out of 10,000 test-takers. Knowing the fact about the present scenario of COVID Pandemic, IIM Rohtak has decided to take three steps in simplifying their admission process. Firstly, the entire process has been converted into the online mode with open books and notes. In this kind of format, no specific proctoring is needed, given the time duration is only 45 minutes. Secondly, the number of Questions has been decreased from 120 to 60. And Thirdly, the concept of mugging up questions and answers have been eliminated.
