IIM Rohtak, Haryana Police Sign an Agreement to Foster Officers' Managerial Abilities

New Delhi: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Rohtak and Haryana Police have inked a Memorandum of Association (MoA) to strengthen the managerial skills of its officers.

As stated in a release by the Haryana police, "Sandeep Khirwar, Additional DGP (Law and Order) of the Haryana Police, and Dr Shiv Kumar Pandey, Dean (Research and Executive Education) of IIM Rohtak, signed a Memorandum of Association (MoA).

DGP Agrawal spoke on the occasion and said, "In the rapidly evolving landscape of technological progress, we must work for change. Currently, a contract is being negotiated with an esteemed institute such as IIM Rohtak. This will bring about a change in the future, and policing will become more professional."

IIM Rohtak and Haryana Police want to mutually establish a curriculum and offer a Post Graduate Diploma in Management for "Group A" officials, encompassing IPS and DSP rank officials of the state police force. Both organisations plan to offer an Executive Certificate Programme in data analytics built specifically for police operations simultaneously.

In addition, the partnership will investigate ways to develop a symbiotic relationship between police work and civilian expectations. The government will select officers to participate in the programme. In addition, the MoA would be in effect for five years.

"The main objective of the MoA is to establish an institutional framework for knowledge-sharing with both Police officers and the instructors and students of IIM-Rohtak, to assist state police in ability and skill development, and to enable the exchange of faculty and research individuals for academic research purposes on an honorary or consulting basis," read the statement.
