New Delhi: IIM Calcutta conferred degrees to 461 graduates of its two-year flagship MBA program at its 58th annual convocation on April 8, 2023. The event was held in the presence of IIM-C, Prof. Uttam K Sarkar and Chairperson of the Board of Governors, Shrikrishna Kulkarni.
As per IIM Calcutta, "A total of 461 students from 58th batch of Flagship MBA Program as well as 78 students from the 1-year MBA Executive Program received their degrees”. The keynote speech was given by Tarun Rai, Executive Director (APAC) of Wunderman Thompson.
Additionally, the IIM Calcutta awarded PhD degrees to 10 students and the Postgraduate Programs for Executives in Visionary Leadership in Manufacturing (PGPEX VLM) to 40 students at the annual convocation.
In addition to this, the institute has completed the final IIM Calcutta placement process for the 58th batch of its prestigious 2-year MBA program at the campus. In the placement session, the institute recorded a 3% increase in the average pay offered to candidates this year.
The median salary offered stood at INR 33.67 lakh per year, which went up nearly 9% from the previous year. The entire batch received 573 offers in total, with the top 25% of students getting a salary package of almost INR 50.86 lakh, an increase of 5% from the previous year.
Following the IIM Calcutta Placement 2023 data, the highest number of offers were made in consulting and finance sector by A91 Partners, BNP Paribas, Franklin Templeton, Goldman Sachs, Accenture Strategy, Bain & Co, Kearney and McKinsey & Co among other recruiters
