IIM Bangalore Wins 7th Edition of Samsung E.D.G.E Campus Program; Read Details Here


New Delhi: At the seventh edition of Samsung's E.D.G.E campus programme, Team Transcendence from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore wins a cash reward of INR 4,50,000. The programme recorded participation from a total of 27 institutions and almost 9,000 students.

The winning team in the national round was Team Transcendence from IIM Bangalore, consisting of Shreyas S, Amrita Singh, and Shinde Chaitanya Sharad. This team offered a novel approach to encouraging consumers in India to embrace the internet of things (IoT) devices.

Samsung E.D.G.E. is a two-month programme that involves three evaluation rounds. Over 2,700 teams participated in the programmes this year. After rigorous research and brainstorming from each group, the first phase consists of the presentation of an executive summary.

One team from each campus is chosen after the evaluation process. Following that, these teams are required to work on a case study and further submit and present in-depth solutions in a final round. The first winning team received Samsung's flagship cell phones, pre-placement proposals and a monetary award.

Samsung's executives selected and supervised a total of 9 teams as they competed for the top 3 slots in the national round. Team Srujan from the National Institute of Design (NID), Bangalore came in second with their design solution for modern ways of direct communication with consumers using gamification through full-motion video.

They earned a monetary award of INR 3,000,000 as well as Samsung pre-placement interviews. Additionally, team G.U.G. from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) came in third place and took home a cash reward of Rs 1,50,00.

The third winning team provided a solution to allow consumers to experience the connected devices ecosystem through an in-store smart home model and a Metaverse experience store.

As a platform, Samsung E.D.G.E. endeavours to bring to life the creative and innovative ideas of students who want to drive change".
