Indian Institute of Management, IIM Bangalore has received the EQUIS accreditation for a span of 5 years, which is the longest accreditation offered by the EQUIS.
As per IIM Bangalore's statement, it was the second time the institute got the EQUIS accreditation for a period of 5 years.
EQUIS, is the leading international system of quality assessment, improvement and accreditation of higher education institutions in management and business administration.
According to the EQUIS accreditation team, it was impressed by the institute's achievements specifically in terms of its doctoral programme, profile of IIM Bangalore’s students, high-quality management programmes, which are well-ranked internationally.
The team also highlighted the features of IIM Bangalore which is its Strong commitment to digital learning and MOOCs, strong executive education programmes, strong connection to practice.
The Diversity policy towards underprivileged students in India and students with disabilities, and its achievements in research and publications in top international journals were also praised by the accreditation team.

Speaking about the re-accreditation of EQUIS, the IIM Bangalore Director Rishikesha T Krishnan said that EQUIS accreditation is all about excellence and continuous quality improvement linked to the strategy, vision and leadership, which will definitely assist the institute to establish a quality agenda for the future.
Further, the graduates who are studying at an EQUIS accredited school can be assured that they'll receive international recognition for their qualification, which is extremely essential in today’s globalized environment, the IIM-B statement revealed.
Earlier, IIM Bangalore bagged the second spot in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2021in the management category.On the other hand, IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Calcutta obtained first and third position respectively. IIM ABC have maintained their position from last year's NIRF rankings for MBA programmes.
