New Delhi: IIM Bangalore has partnered with the Karnataka government and started a training programme to help the SC-ST women graduates to strengthen their entrepreneurial and business skills.
A statement revealed that the department of social welfare and the department of scheduled tribes welfare of the Karnataka government have established a training programme to assist SC-ST women graduates in honing their entrepreneurial abilities in collaboration with IIMB .
In accordance with the training programme , a total of 300 women from SC-ST communities will receive training.
Hybrid Learning Model
The training programme would combine instructor-led sessions with participant-paced self-paced virtual learning. Consequently, it would be delivered in a blended and phased manner.
Speaking about the launch of the programme, Professor Ganesh Prabhu, Programme Director, said that the participants would develop a business plan while receiving mentoring. In the final module, they would also be able to present their business strategy to the cohort and the mentors.
About the Entrepreneurship Programme
Aspiring female entrepreneurs can use this programme, which is provided under the umbrella of IIMB's executive education programmes, to take their idea and turn it into a commercial endeavour.
The programme also offers a chance for both professional and personal growth with an emphasis on learning management techniques, navigating growth opportunities, developing effective leadership abilities, and receiving assistance from formal mentoring on the company idea and peer networking.
Chief Minister's Message
The CM, Basavaraj Bommai, stated in his message, which was read by Rakesh Kumar, Commissioner of the Department of Social Welfare, GoK that every woman in the state should be economically empowered.
The primary goal is to motivate women from vulnerable groups, such as scheduled castes and tribes, to participate in economic activity and growth.
The state government made a provision in the budget for 2022–23 for a programme that will assist 300 women graduates from these groups in accessing entrepreneurial training at IIM Bangalore.
Wishing luck to the participants, he added that one should not become self-sufficient but also inspire others to take up entrepreneurship and become an employer of many people.
IIM Bangalore Director Professor Rishikesha T Krishnan discussed the institute's extensive and ongoing involvement in providing entrepreneurial learning programmes, including the National Commission for Women's programme, the Women Start-up Programme backed by Kotak Bank, and others.
