IIM Bangalore Appoints Srivardhini K. Jha as New Chairperson at NSRCEL; Read Details Here


New Delhi: Srivardhini K. Jha assumed the role of chairperson of NSRCEL, the startup incubator at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore this month. Jha is an Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship at IIM Bangalore.

She was a researcher with the McGill Centre for the convergence of Health and Economics before joining the IIM Bangalore. Her education includes a PhD in corporate strategy and policy from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, and an MS in management science engineering from Stanford University.

She also has a BTech degree in Information Science and engineering from Bangalore University. She held several high administrative positions before entering academics at Microsoft, Sun Microsystems, and Infosys as per the institute.

Srivardhini K. Jha has been a researcher and an educator with a passion for entrepreneurship and innovation. Her areas of research interest involve social entrepreneurship, innovation in the Indian startup ecosystem, and multination enterprise(MNE) in emerging countries.

IIM Bangalore remarked, “ Her publications have appeared in numerous peer-reviewed International journals, including MIS Quarterl by, MIT Sloan management review, Management International Review, and Annals of New York Academy of Sciences, among others.”

She co-edited the 2021 publication titled ” Shifting Orbits: Decoding the Trajectory of Indian Startup Ecosystem.” Anand Sri Ganesh, Chief Operating Officer of NSRCEL, announced this significant leadership appointment and stated, “We’re glad to welcome professor Srivardhini Jha as NSRCEL’s new Chairwoman.”

He also stated, “Her emphasis on innovation and entrepreneurship in her research will hasten the ecosystem’s impact and our ongoing commitment to bringing together the business executives, investors, academics, and entrepreneurs on a single platform.”

Professor Jha stated regarding her new position at NSRCEL: “Entrepreneurship will play a big role in making India a 5 trillion dollar economy. As a well-known hub for entrepreneurship education, NSRCEL is in a unique position to support, develop and expand entrepreneurs and their businesses as well as to aid in Nation Building.”

“I hope to see NSRCEL make a large beneficial impact on the Indian Startup ecosystem during my time there,” She continued.
