IIM Ahmedabad Introduces a Platform for Online Courses

New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) has introduced an open learning platform to provide both students and professionals with online certification programmes. IIM Ahmedabad will offer a wide variety of programs through this platform, particularly ones in data science, leadership, finance & accounting, information technology, economics and human resources.

The classes will last between four and six weeks. According to a statement from the institute, Swayam and Coursera, two well-known online learning environments, will also offer similar courses.

The online certification programs will operate as the initial contact point for candidates wishing to develop new skills and improve in addition to providing an intense and high-quality learning opportunity. Participants will have access to a large selection of synchronous or interactive classes as well as asynchronous and self-paced classes on the portal.

In the long term, IIMA will also roll out a "Learning Path" element that attempts to advise learners on how to switch to or advance their skills in a certain area. According to a release from IIM Ahmedabad, this "route" would be created with the cooperation and direction of academic staff and will be specific to each applicant.

Professor Bharat Bhasker, Director of IIMA, announced the portal's opening by saying: "Online@IIMA is a crucial step forward in our mission, providing the knowledge of our academics to a bigger pool of applicants around the world”.

He continued, “This will not just enable the talent pool to be upskilled more quickly, but it'll also remove the distance barriers to high-quality education. We are also making these courses available on Swayam and Coursera in order to expand our initiatives and impact.” “We are certain that everyone who chooses to engage in Online@IIMA will receive the same life-changing education for which IIMA is renowned,” He stated.
