IIIT Hyderabad announced scholarships for women pursuing B.Tech courses. The last date to register for the scholarship is December 25, 2021.
As per the latest updates, iHub-Data at the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Hyderabad has decided to promote women higher education through its initiative, Women Education Promotion Scholarships.
Hence, the institute will award scholarships to female B.Tech students participating in the 36-week online course on Foundations of Modern Machine Learning (FMML). The course is scheduled to begin from January 8, 2022.
Any Indian student pursuing a 4-year UG program in CSE/IT/EEE/ECE or any allied streams can register for the course by December 25, 2021. However, only girl students will be eligible for upto 50% scholarships.
Prof U Deva Priyakumar, Academic Head of iHub-Data stated that the scheme is primarily aimed at empowering women students pursuing B.Tech programs. The scheme is specially targeted at candidates belonging to rural areas who find difficulty in joining and completing high-tech training courses at affordable costs.

IIIT Hyderabad Women Education Promotion Scholarships 2021: Benefits
As part of the Women Education Promotion Scholarships scheme, beneficiaries will be able to avail 50% coverage of their current course fee.
The Academic Head said in a statement, “Increasing participation from rural areas and bridging the gender gap in high-tech research domains are areas of priority, in all training programmes offered by iHub-Data. The first course on FMML had seen almost 50 per cent participation from girl students. We are looking at enhancing this ratio, as some of these niche deep-tech training areas are ideally suited for women.”
Additionally, interested candidates who complete the course will be awarded a certificate of merit from IIIT Hyderabad.

To avail the benefits students have to enroll for the FMML course by December 25, 2021.
The course is designed to leverage facilities of higher studies, training and placement and for undergraduate female students pursuing 4-year engineering programmes in various fields of Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering or allied domains.

Application Fee
Course fees for FMML course for all eligible women candidates will be INR 5,000 and other general candidates is INR 10,000.
