IIIT Delhi Collaborates with Vehant Technologies for Advanced Research Development in AI & ML


New Delhi: IIIT Delhi collaborates with Vehant Technologies Pvt. Ltd to conduct advanced research projects. The organization will be sponsoring consultancies, MTech and PhD students of IIIT Delhi. The sponsorship will begin with sponsoring up to five MTech students for the academic year starting 2022-23. 

Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi students and faculty will collaborate with the R&D staff of Vehant Technologies. The MoU will focus on applications of cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) which will lead to advanced physical security, surveillance and traffic monitoring.

According to the institute, Vehant Technologies is a leading organization in the field of R&D and product development using AI and ML. “While IIIT-Delhi faculty and researchers come with vast experience in the field of computer science, and engineering, the collaboration with Vehant technologies will further facilitate the proliferation of system knowledge among the students and faculty in the field of AI / ML through joint projects,” said Professor Pushpendra Singh, Dean of Academics, IIIT-Delhi and the Principal Investigator of this project.

As the MoU will also sponsor 5 MTech students, admission of the first set of sponsored students will commence in July 2022. The projects are going to start in August 2022. Admission to IIIT Delhi for the academic year 2022-2023 has also begun. Candidates can visit the official website and check for admission updates and further information. 

Anoop G Prabhu, Co-founder & CTO, Vehant Technologies, “The IIIT-Delhi MTech students who are granted the sponsorships will be called Vehant fellows and each fellowship will imply a commitment of INR 10 lakh by Vehant technologies over a period of two years of their academic course. The fund can be flexibly utilized for any research and academic purposes. Our primary objective is to attract young talent to work on our projects while simultaneously supporting quality education.”

The statement further added, “The fellowship will be highly beneficial for the students of our institutes as they will receive the full cost of their education including reimbursement of living costs and also get first-hand industry experience on live projects and R&D, while continuing their regular academic study.”
