As a result of the panel discussion held at Global Alumni Meet 2022 at IIIT Allahabad, more opportunities and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) are anticipated to be signed in the next months to strengthen the collaboration between industry and academics.

Addressing the event, Prof. Anupam Agarwal, Dean of Alumni Affairs at IIIT Allahabad said, working together with shared human resources, infrastructure, lab setup, equipment, and facilities is beneficial for both an industry and an institute.

In order to overcome any technical obstacles, the industry can seek assistance from an institute for research and development. On the other hand, students and faculty members have the chance to upgrade their skills and knowledge in the industry environment by participating in internship opportunities and related projects.

Dean (Technology and Development), Prof. OP Vyas, asserted that both parties stand to gain from the scenario. Businesses provide business insights, and students add tried-and-true methods and knowledge.

Students at an academic institution learn how to apply their methodologies in practical settings while working on projects funded by industry. According to him, it aids in developing marketable and industry-ready students.

He further claimed that because students don't get early access to the most recent study findings and methodology, it takes them longer to put these strategies into effect.

The key advantage of this collaboration for businesses, according to Prof. Madhvendra Mishra, Dean (MoUs), is having access to the most recent research findings and cutting-edge new approaches. It is anticipated that businesses without strong ties to academia will develop more slowly.
