IIIT Allahabad: Newly Introduced UG, PG Courses to Commence From Academic Session 2020-21; Details Here


November 26, 2020: Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Allahabad will begin the mandatory lessons on India’s scientific and spiritual heritage, art of meditation, and yoga from the academic session 2020-21.

The Senate of IIIT Allahabad has approved this mandatory four-credit course on “Orientation Camp”. The lessons will be imparted as additional courses to make students understand techniques of energizing mind and building self-confidence.

Professor P Nagabhushan, Director of IIIT Allahabad stated, the institute has become a premier technical institution across India in educating postgraduate and graduate students about rich scientific legacies of India.

IIIT Allahabad Newly Introduced Course: Highlights

Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Allahabad’s newly introduced course has been made compulsory for institutes’ B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, and Ph.D. students from the upcoming semester.

Tabulated below is the curriculum for the newly introduced four-credit course at IIIT Allahabad:

Professor P Nagabhushan added that a committee has been specially created for designing the course curriculum of the new courses which has also completed its work.

The committee which designed the curriculum for newly introduced courses includes Professor Tapobrata Lahiri as head and Neetesh Purohit as its coordinator from IIIT Allahabad.

Additionally, Professor Chidananda Gowda, former vice-chancellor of Karnataka University (KU), and Professor Nina Kohli, Department of Psychology, Allahabad University (AU) were also part of the committee.

Assistant Professor Neetesh Purohit, coordinator of added that IIIT Allahabad will conduct exams for the new four-credit courses along with the internal assessment.

Experts who will be selected for conducting the module will also prepare for the examination. Students will be graded as good, satisfactory, or dropped on the basis of their performance.

Grading will be reflected in their semester-end mark sheet. However, if a student fails to clear their exam they will have to undergo repetition of the course to clear their exam.

Neetesh Purohit further added, “Different experts of the country are being approached to conduct different modules of this course. The names of experts will be finalized before beginning the classes.”
