New Delhi: IGNOU students who have registered to appear for the term-end examination for December 2021 session have flooded on various social media platforms demanding online exams due to the increasing cases of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.
IGNOU students have shared their concerns on Twitter, stating that varsity should conduct the examination in online mode and in Open Book Exam (OBE) mode. Conducting exams online will only increase the risk of transmission of the Covid-19 variant, Omicron.
The demand came after IGNOU released an official notice announcing the postponement of TEE 202, which was earlier scheduled to commence from January 20, 2022. The IGNOU TEE Exam 2021 Revised Schedule will be released 15 days before the exam commencement.
Students are using the hashtag “#JusticeforIGNOUStudents” and “#JusticeforStudents” on Twitter to show their concern regarding the IGNOU’s decision term-end examination.

While demanding the safe commencement of exams, many students said that since the university has conducted the classes, and accepted the assignments and projects through online mode, exams too should be held online.
Adding to the demands, several students have requested IGNOU to conduct the term end exam through blended mode if the online commencement in one shift is not possible. Students urged that this is not the time to conduct offline exams when Covid-19 positive cases are rising.
Earlier, as per the tentative schedule released by the university for TEE 2021, the exam was scheduled to commence till February 20, 2021, for all IGNOU UG, PG Course students. However, exams were further delayed due to the rise of pandemic cases in the country.
This is the second time IGNOU has postponed the commencement of the term-end examination. Due to the delays in exams, many students are afraid they will miss out on recruitment opportunities due to not having their degree on time.
Despite the student's concern, the university has not released an official notice regarding the mode of IGNOU TEE December 2021. Students are hoping that the university will soon conduct the exam through blended mode or online mode in respect to the ongoing pandemic.
In other news, the university has recently started the IGNOU MBA Admission 2022 process through online means from January 27, 2022. The admission selection for the MBA course will be done on the basis of merit for the academic session 2022.
