New Delhi: As per the latest updates, the University of Hyderabad (UoH) and Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Hyderabad have signed a contract to continue their academic collaboration in research and education.
The partnership between Hyderabad University with TIFR-H would be supervised by a committee that advises on research and academic matters. This partnership aims to make it possible for both institutions to co-organize national and international lectures, workshops, conferences, and seminars.
According to a statement from the UoH, both institutions will advance their natural science expertise in physics and chemistry, revolutionising the nation's pursuit of excellence and human resource development. This collaboration will be supervised by a Research and Academic Advisory Committee (RAAC).
To encourage interdisciplinary research, academics from both institutes will consider creating inter-institutional centres on mutually accepted theme areas. According to the institution, this partnership will have long-term effects on supporting and advancing academic excellence.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Prof. BJ Rao, Vice-Chancellor, UoH, and Prof. Vadapalli Chandrasekhar, Director, TIFR. The agreement was signed by Dr. Devesh Nigam (Registrar), Professors Jagan MR Pongubala and PK Suresh from UoH, and D Hari Prasad (Administrative Officer), Professors Ullas Kolthur and M Krishnamurthy.
Hyderabad University is a central university of Hyderabad and holds 10th rank among the best institutions in India as per NIRF rankings 2022. The university offers various undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs to students including MCA, BCA, MA, MTech, and PhD among others.
