Baby (New) IIMs are the recent addition to the list of Indian Institute of Management, autonomous colleges funded by Government of India. All the baby/ new IIMs known for their flagship MBA/ PGP programs, in which admissions are granted generally, on the basis of CAT score followed by Group Discussion & Personal Interview. However, specific admission cutoffs and final shortlist preparation components differ according to the college. Similar to the old IIMs, baby IIMs also release the MBA Admission Shortlist in January on the basis of CAT score. The first shortlist is a Personal Interview (PI) call for the candidates who successfully qualified for CAT Cutoff. For MBA 2023 Admissions, IIM Trichy will conduct CAP along with 08 other baby IIMs. CAP is responsible for conducting the interview, WAT or GD (if applicable) through a single window. Moreover, IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu will also conduct SAP for the year 2022 for those students who have not received any call from the CAP 2023. SAP is conducted by IIMs when seats are still vacant after the CAP is complete.

At present, there are 20 IIMs that endeavour to provide quality education in Management studies. -Out of the 20 IIMs, with an objective of flourishing the scope of management education and extracting talent pool in India,the government further established 9 more third generation IIMs post-2011. The below mentioned newly formed nine IIMs are called the baby IIMs.

All the 9 baby IIMs primarily shortlist the candidates for the final admission round based on CAT scores. Besides, other parameters such as academics, diversity, work experience are also considered paramount. Baby (New) IIMs Selection Criteria 2023

IIM shortlist criteria 2023 emphasizes more on Qualitative students which is not just benchmarked only by CAT exam scores. Baby IIMs Shortlist criteria 2022 depends mainly on the below mentioned parameters.

• CAT Exam Score: Each new IIMs shortlist criteria prioritize its minimum sectional as well as overall CATpercentile score ranging between 70 to 95 percentile.
• Academic Profile & Diversity: The Baby IIMs shortlist criteria gives weightage to excellent academic record till graduation and the candidates belonging to Non-Engineering background. Female candidates are also given weightage to foster gender diversity in 
• Work Experience: If a candidate possesses a relevant work experience of 2-3 years a special weightage ranging between 5 to 10 percent is awarded to become eligible for GD-PI-WAT round.

Common Admission Process (CAP)

Common Admission Process (CAP) comprises the common WAT (Writing Ability Test) and PI rounds. It is conducted for the newest baby IIMs. All the IIMs that choose to participate in CAP need not conduct their final admission round separately but based on scores obtained in the CAP round. This takes place along with their other individual admission criteria, which may be separate for different Baby IIMs. The merit list will then be prepared to finalize admission offers to the candidates.

Supplementary Admission Process ( SAP)

IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu have conducted SAP for the year 2022 for those students who have not received any call from CAP 2022. SAP will be conducted by IIMs when seats are still vacant after the CAP is complete. 

New IIMS Seats and Number of Shortlisted Candidates

New IIMs will shortlist the students 10 times more as compared to their respective intake.The seats available for admission in IIMs and the expected number of candidates to be shortlisted by baby IIMs for final shortlisting for admission 2022 are mentioned below.

New IIMs Cut off

All the 7 Baby IIMs have the option of participating in CAP 2022 or conducting an independent PI round. They require the candidates to apply and reconfirm their admission priorities within the specified date before finalizing their admissions.

Out of all CAP 2022 participating baby IIMs,IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu have declared separate CAP shortlisting criteria for their own selection round. Higher cut offs are declared for the CAP round and lower cut offs are announced for their own selection criteria once CAP round is over.

IIM Nagpur, IIM Visakhapatnam, IIM Amritsar will not consider CAP 2022 for their admission criteria.They have separately.announced dates and schedules for their shortlisting criteria.

IIM Bodhgaya CAT Cut off 2022

The College has shortlisted the candidates for the CAP based on the IIM Bodhgaya cut-off 2022 which is set for 93 percentile. In case, the candidates shortlisted for PI, but not qualified in CAP 2022, PI will be conducted through a separate process Supplementary Admission Process (SAP).IIM Bodhgaya will release the final MBA Admission 2022 result on May 21.

IIM Amritsar CAT Cut off

IIM Nagpur CAT Cut off 2022

IIM Nagpur has concluded Personal Interview for its flagship MBA program and the final results have been released on May 19. The institute shortlists students for MBA based on CAT Cutoff and past academic records. IIM Nagpur has its own shortlisting and selection criteria apart from CAP. IIM Visakhapatnam CAT Cut off 2022

The final selection is based on the merit list prepared by taking into consideration factors.The admission offer will be made to the candidates in the last week of May 2022 and the academic session at IIM Visakhapatnam begins in July 2022.

IIM Trichy CAT cut off 2022
