DU Consititutes 4-member Panel to Examine Admission for 2022-23 Academic Session; Check Details Here


New Delhi: Delhi University has constituted a four-member panel to examine the processes related to the admission for the academic session 2022-23. 

Since the university is all set to implement the CUCET from this academic year 2022-23, onwards, the DU has formed a four member panel. 

Apart from forming a 4-member committee, the varsity has constituted a 7-member panel to look into the admission processes and formalities regarding the overseas students. 

The varsity issued a notification on January 31, which notified that with the adoption of CUCET for the academic year 2022-23, a four-member panel has been assigned with the task of checking out the admission related work/processes. 

The DU Vice-chancellor nominated Professors Haneet Gandhi, Dean (Admissions); Sanjeev Singh, Joint Dean(Admissions); Dr Ajay Jaiswal, Joint Dean (Admissions) and Dr Amit Pundir, Deputy Dean (Admissions) as the panel members. 

This year, the DU Admissions will be done through the CUCET. Until last year, the varsity conducted the admission process based on the cut-offs obtained by the candidates for a majority of the undergraduate courses with an exception to a postgraduate courses, for which the varsity conducted entrance exams.

Recently, the university released a notification announcing the varsity's decision to discontinue M.Phil programmes from the academic session 2022-23, in accordance with the NEP 2020

According to a notification issued on January 27, the university informed that a seven member committee has been formed to look into the admissions of foreign nationals, with an immediate effect for the academic year 2022-2023. 

The varsity constituted the seven-member committee under the chairmanship of Joint Dean (Foreign Students) Prof Amarjiva Lochan. 

The decision of examining the overseas study was taken as the backdrop of a large number of foreign nationals obtaining admission in the Delhi University as the varsity has reserved five per cent of its seats for such students.
