Delhi University has constituted a committee in order to formulate the admission pattern. The university formed the committee overseeing the high cutoff marks for admissions to various merit-based undergraduate courses.

The committee will share its report in the high-level meeting scheduled to be held on December 10. The varsity sources suggest that the entrance exams must be conducted for DU UG Admission

One of the committee members said that the board recommends conducting the entrance exams but the exact modalities of the exam will be decided by the academic council.

Further, the admissions will be solely based on entrance exams or will it be a combination of entrance exams and board results and what weightage will be given should have to be seen and these aspects will be decided by the DU academic council.

The varsity has also directed the council to scrutinize the board-wise distribution of the students. However, one of the committee members said that not much difference has been found in the admissions that have taken place over the years.

In accordance with the latest notification of the UGC rules and regulations, the varsity's council is expected to give a nod to the constituent of a New Education Policy (NEP) in the University.

The university has planned to implement the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) from the next academic year 2022-23, in line with the directions laid out by the higher education regulator, the UGC.

Further, the committee highlighted the fact that this year, the number of students seeking DU UG admission 2021 from the Kerala board exceeded the number of applicants from the state boards of Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Punjab, despite the fact that these states are the neighbouring states of the national capital.

According to the data shared by the varsity, over 25,000 students who have secured between 90 and 100% marks in their board exams have sought for Delhi University School of Open Learning (DU SOL) Admissions 2021
