IIT Bombay successfully conducted UCEED and CEED 2021 today Jan 07, 2020. Candidates who appeared for the exams today should check the article below to get the detailed exam analysis. 

Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design, popularly known as UCEED 2021 was conducted successfully on January 17, 2021 from 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Part A of UCEED 2021 has been reported as slightly tricky while Part B has been recorded to be of average level. UCEED is conducted by IIT Bombay every year for admission to a 4-year-long B.Des programme offered by top design institutes of the nation. CEED 2020 exam was successfully conducted on January 18 by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay for Master in Design and PhD aspirants. Part A of CEED 2021 has been reported to be of average level while Part B has been recorded as easy.

UCEED CEED 2021 Student Reactions

UCEED 2021

One of the candidates for UCEED 2020 found the paper neither too easy nor too difficult. He also said that Part A of the paper was average and Part B was pretty easy. Overall, he found the paper easier than he did last year. But the MSQs in Part A were a little tricky.

Another candidate thought that more time was needed to complete Part B. He is a B.Tech student who did not take any external assistance to prepare for the exam. Overall, he also found the paper easier than UCEED 2019.

On the contrary, few UCEED 2020 applicants found the paper somewhat difficult. According to them, before trying any question, the paper demanded a lot of thought. Questions based on numbers and reasoning were the hardest to answer and the MCQs were a bit time-consuming.

Part B of UCEED 2020 included a storyboard question along with a few conditions under which candidates were asked to draw a desk from the perspective of a lady professor at work.

CEED 2021

One of the Gurugram candidates said that CEED 2020 was easier than it was last year. While Part A of the question paper was tricky, it was quite scored at the same time. Part Bhad questions from a variety of fields, such as Industrial Design, Animation and Graphic Design.

Candidates who could try all the MCQs should be able to obtain good marks in CEED 2020, said another candidate. She also added that Part A of the paper had no knowledge related issues and had more logical reasoning and analytical questions. Part B of CEED 2020 was found to be moderate by the test-taker. The paper did not see any optional questions this year.

Since the test pattern was the same, the candidates found CEED 2020 easier than last year. However, there were also a few who thought the paper was a bit long compared to CEED 2019. The candidate found Part B or the drawing section easier than that of Part A.

The undergraduate design exam was completed at 12 p.m. UCEED 2021 Question Paper had two parts where Part A was 2 Hours 30 Minutes and consisted of NATs, MSQs and MCQs. Detailed UCEED 2021 Exam Analysis for Part A

Part A had a total of three sections, which included questions from NAT, MSQ and MCQ. That part was computer-based and the applicants had to complete it in 150 minutes. As per the expert's analysis, the Numerical Answer Type questions were a bit difficult compared to the Multiple Select and Multiple Choice questions.

Another observation made concerning UCEED 2021 was that the applicants had taken a careful approach in resolving the issues of the Multiple Select and Multiple Choice Questions because they had a negative mark. The NATs did not have negative markings, but the questions were a bit difficult compared to the MCQs and MSQs.

Detailed UCEED 2021 Exam Analysis for Part B

Part B of UCEED 2021 was designed to analyse the innovative approach and the skills of the individual. The question in Part B was shown on the computer screen, and the candidates had to write the answer in the reply book provided by the invigilator.

Detailed CEED 2021 Exam Analysis for Part A

Part A of CEED 2021 consisted of three sections and the candidates had to complete this part in one hour. According to CEED 2021, the paper's difficulty level was moderate. The three sections of CEED Part A included Numerical Answer Type (NAT), Multiple Select Question (MSQ) and Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ).

The students reported that they had taken about 25 minutes to answer the numerical type of questions and were moderately difficult. Many students found multiple-choice questions relatively easy, and selected questions were also moderately difficult. According to the test-takers, time was a major constraint in completing CEED 2201 Part A.

Detailed CEED 2021 Exam Analysis for Part B

Five questions were asked in Part B of CEED 2021 and the candidates found the questions a bit confusing. The questions in this section were based on the 2D graphics icon, character design, and problem identification of the toothbrush and mixer grinder. Each question in part B had to be answered on a separate page, and some of the candidates found it difficult to understand. CEED Part B evaluates the candidate's drawing skills, creativity, communication skills and problem identification skills.
