CBSE 12th Board Exam 2022 Registration for Private Candidates Begins; Check Guidelines Here


The Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE, has begun the registration process for private candidates for CBSE 12th Board Exam 2022. The board has also issued detailed guidelines to fill exam forms, read details below.

The board will conduct CBSE 12th Board Exam 2022 for private candidates along with the CBSE term-2 board examinations in the month of March-April 2022. Hence students appearing for the exams can submit their CBSE exam form from December 2, onwards on the official website @cbse.nic.in.

Earlier, CBSE had notified private candidates that class 12th exams will be conducted only for Term 2 and not for the Term-1. The final result for board exams would be evaluated based on the scores of Term 2.

Based on the CBSE term-2 schedule, the board will conduct the class 12th exams for the private category students. The window to submit CBSE Class 12th examination form will be open till 5 PM on December 20, 2021.

CBSE will accept online examination forms with late till 5 PM on December 21 and the last date to submit the online exam form with late fee is on December 30 (by 5 pm). 

Candidates will have to pay INR 1,500 as examination fee for 5 subjects and INR 300 per subject for one extra subject. Those students who are appearing for the CBSE additional/ compartment/ improvement exams will have to pay INR 300 per subject as exam fee. 

The students should pay a practical fee of INR 150 for each practical subject. However, a late fee of INR 2,000 along with the prescribed fee per candidate will be applicable from December 21 ( from 5 pm) to December 30, (till 5 pm). 

Candidates should note that the board will accept the online examination form without the payment of exam fee. 

CBSE 12th Board Exam 2022 for Private Candidate: Guidelines 

According to the CBSE guidelines, candidates falling in any of the following categories are eligible to sit for the CBSE 12th exam 2022 for private candidates:

  • Candidates who have been tagged as 'Essential Repeat' in 2021. 
  • Candidates who have been placed in 'Compartment' in August/ September 2021.
  • Passed out candidates of 2020 and 2021, who wish to appear in an additional subject. 
  • Female candidates and candidates with physical difficulties who are bonafide residents of Delhi and have qualified Class 10 or equivalent exam in 2020 or earlier.
  • Candidates who were announced as 'Fail' in the following years, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020.
  • Candidates who passed the Class 12 board exam in 2020 and 2021, but intend to improve their performance in one or more subjects.
  • Students from the Patrachar Vidhyalaya of Delhi.
