Being an Associate Professor of the college, What is your philosophy of leadership?
"Definition of Leadership depend on end goals and personality of a person"
I firmly believe that leadership styles of people can vary greatly depending on their personality, goals and the situation and below are some types of leadership I believe in.
- Servant leadership: This philosophy emphasizes the leader's responsibility to serve their followers by providing support, guidance and resources to help them achieve their goals.
- Transformational leadership: This philosophy emphasizes the leader's ability to inspire and motivate their followers to achieve a common vision or goal.
- Authentic leadership: This philosophy emphasizes the leader's ability to be true to themselves, to build trust and rapport with their followers by being genuine, honest, and transparent.
- Situational leadership: This philosophy emphasizes the need for leaders to adapt their style to the specific needs of the situation, by matching their leadership style to the demands of the situation. There is no one "right" leadership style or philosophy. The most effective leaders are those who can adapt their style to the specific needs of the situation, and who are able to inspire and motivate their followers to achieve their goals.
How do you strategize and update the curriculum to make it befitting for the students?
"Industry demands and students needs are thoroughly analyzed and evaluated while designing it"
Our Curriculum design strategy involves the development and implementation of such teaching techniques and programs that can meet the needs of students, provides a clear and effective structure for learning and supports their academic success. Hence, while we design the curriculum of our college, we clearly identify the objectives, gaps we need to bridge and competencies that students need to develop in order to achieve their goals. After that we determine the best methods for delivering instruction and resources that will be required to support learning. In addition to this, we have developed a strong system to assess students' academic progress, and use this data to refine and improve the curriculum over time. Also, curriculum is regularly revised and new programs are included accordingly in accordance with changing technologies or research findings. Last but not the least, we take feedback from stakeholders including industry experts, academicians and leaders to identify areas for improvement and ensure that the curriculum meets the needs of all learners.
What are some of the unique qualities of your teaching style?
"I clearly communicate my objectives and end goals to students while teaching them"
I use few simple yet effective approaches to teach my students and the very first method is Clear Communication in which I clearly explain subject concepts to them using real life examples and case studies. And as we all know that the learning and understanding capacity of each student is different, so as per time and students demand, I adjust my teaching techniques to suit their requirements. Also, I am very passionate about teaching students, helping them to learn and succeed and I am always open to feedback coming from my students and colleagues. In addition to this, being a Teacher, it's my moral responsibility to empathize with students and understand their challenges and needs, hence I make sure my students have access to required study material and I also use a wide variety of engaging and interactive teaching methods. Additionally, seeking my own skills improvement and continuous upgradation in my knowledge is also my responsibility. So if I conclude all this in one line, a Teacher should have a student-centered approach to teaching and is committed to creating a supportive and engaging learning environment that helps them reach their full potential.
Which extracurricular activities in your opinion should be organized in a college to enhance students skills?
"Guest lectures, competitions and service learning opportunities are offered by us to them"
I firmly believe that there are some activities and events which an educational institution should organize and opportunities they should provide to students to enhance their skills and expose them to real-world challenges. And the very first thing is that Schools and Universities should have a wide range of clubs and organizations that can provide relevant opportunities to students as per their interests, organize guest lectures and workshops and develop leadership skills by engaging them in community services. In addition to this, Institutions may organize competitions and challenges in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) fields to inculcate creative and problem-solving skills in them. Internships are also a good option for students to gain hands-on experience and learn from industry professionals. Additionally, service learning programs could be a better kickstart for students to apply their academic knowledge and skills in real-world situations by working on projects that benefit their communities. Last but not the least, study abroad programs can provide opportunities to students to learn about different cultures and languages, develop their global awareness and enhance their language skills and guest.
