Dr. Sachin Gupta is currently serving as the Principal at NCP College of Polytechnic, Ambala Road, Jagadhri. Dr. Sachin Gupta is an MCA, M.Phil. and Ph.D. from I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar. Having 18 years of rich experience in the field of teaching as well as in administration, he is an active researcher and educationist. Also, he has published and presented 9 papers in international, national journals and conference proceedings and has a Book published in his account as well.

What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“Constant uplifting and achieving”

Working for the upskill of courses and exchange of experiences with staff and students always keep my zeal energetic for this sector. I am always willing to learn, and shaping a vision of academic success for all students has been a forte for me for a long time. I constantly work for improvement and achievement by focusing on the quality of instructions and the latest education. 


How would you describe your leadership style?

“Exchanging powers and platforms”

I follow the democratic leadership philosophy. I believe everyone should participate in the process. I give everyone the opportunity to participate and exchange their ideas freely. I also encourage discussion and believe that creativity should be encouraged and rewarded. One of my main goals as a person and as a leader is to show respect for everyone. I practice open communication and ensure that everyone is kept informed. I never let my personal beliefs or opinions stand in the way of doing my jobs. 


How do you strategize the key plans for the marketing of your college?

“Monitor, test and improve the education marketing efforts”

We keenly utilize Alumni, and host and publicize events and activities at various platforms online and offline. We publish content related to our program to our webpage from time to time. Also, the use of social media as an integral part and developing program pages for digital marketing of our college is a regular practice. We use clear, informative content telling the story about our college and build a professional image. We disseminate videos and images describing the courses and programs of our college, including individual course pages at our official website. Faculty expertise, Past success rate of placement, Infrastructure facility, Fees, etc. are already very attractive. 


What can an inbound student gain from studying here in your college?

“Affordability and diversity of facilities”

We provide a welcoming atmosphere, non-discriminative approach and an assured educational and career growth which attracts students from many countries. We focus on the study of journalism, social work, language, engineering, architecture and other specialized studies. We conduct special language classes for those weak in English. The quality of education that we offer is within the reach of every income group considering the reasonable fee structure. The cost of living here is very less as compared to others. We also provide hostel facilities to the foreigner’s students with a healthy environment.

Train the trainer workshop: Effectively training the academic faculty to train the students more appropriately

Seminars: Industries regularly visits academic campuses to offer seminars to both faculty and students

Newsletter: Some industries develop their own newsletter with the most recent technical article and discussion and circulate them among the students

Industrial visit: Students of our college visit industry during the course to get real-time exposure and practical knowledge

How does your college accommodate the well-being of students from diverse backgrounds?

The aim is to create a classroom environment where all students can thrive together and understand that individual characteristics make people unique and not different in a negative way. We provide scholarships to SC and BC Students and our college always works for diverse background students and provides scholarships to economically weaker students as well. We also counsel students on a regular basis. 


How do you tend to establish a healthy relationship with the students?

“Free discussions and easy approach”

If we truly expect our students to learn with us, they need to know that we care about them. I always take feedback from students regarding their studies and other issues and work to resolve them. From my busy schedule, I always give priority to students to listen to their problems and try to solve them as soon as possible. We always post student pictures and student work. Those pictures are then printed and posted on bulletin boards that stay up all year long which makes the students realize that their growth and development is not only physical but intellectual and emotional as well.


What do you think should be the college’s top priority over the next 10 years?

“Supporting rich and diverse academic activities”

We strive to increase the number of well-qualified faculty and placement rate at our college. We aspire to continue reviewing and improve the effectiveness of our assessment of learning outcomes as well. Establishing procedures to assure academic programs, regularly review and evaluate current programs for relevancy to the employment of our students and look for opportunities to add additional programs to support student success are our prime concerns for the coming years. Overall, we are working for the upskill of courses and events to promote student development. 


How do you ensure that the students gain necessary skills?

“Integrating the curriculum with multiple skill set”

The real success of a professional depends not only on their technical skills but also on their soft skills. The participation of industry bridges the gap between the industry and institution and enables the students to become industry-ready. Apart from this, we integrate several activities and programs for the overall personality development of the students. Oral communication, Writing skills, Observational skills, Interpersonal skills and Creativity are enhanced. Decision making, Questioning techniques, Time management, Problem-solving are inculcated as well. Also, we encourage them for social work.

Any advice for the current youth and aspiring students?

“Self-belief and actions are important assets”

My suggestions for the current youth and aspiring students are to always believe in yourself and have a self-vision. Find good people, take relevant actions and be a leader; Build a great team. Manage your energy and time, acknowledge your goals and always learn from the mistakes. 


What are your roles and responsibility towards the students?

“Create defined and progressive leaders of future”

My vision is to help the students grow into good human beings, useful to society with insight for innovative ideas and research so that they prove to be strong pillars in the progress of the nation. I want to exhibit honesty, ethical behaviour and practice continuous collaboration for the benefit of the students. My main priorities are to support the curriculum to create lifelong leaders and to help students become contributing members of society.
