What is your philosophy of leadership and its implementation?
“I believe in team spirit and establishing the right motivation and guidance”
A leader in my opinion is one who inspires and motivates people to achieve the goal. I do not believe in imposing authority. I also take responsibility for any failure of my team working under my guidance to keep the morale of the team high. My leadership style is a mix of transformational style to participating or democratic style. I keep myself accessible to the team for their guidance, as per their requirements.

We have a diverse crowd and we aim to nurture and guide students into dedicated professionals. We aim to offer a pluralistic culture, where students from different races and social backgrounds feel comfortable in pursuing their courses under one umbrella MCHSR.

What do you think your responsibilities to the Institute and the students are?
"It is my responsibility to respect the concerns of all stakeholders and ensure smooth operation”
My role in this institution is manifold since I am the connecting link between the management, the faculty and students. It is my responsibility to respect the concerns of my higher management by monitoring and ensuring the smooth functioning of the college. I also need to ensure that students get a quality education and have opportunities for their overall development. I also need to strike balance with the interest of all the stakeholders along with compliance to the concerned regulatory and approving bodies.
What do you think should be the Institutes’ top priority over the next 10 years?
“Adding new courses, and developing an institute up to the level and accessible for pan India students to avail the academics at MCHSR in the future”
The institute has been functioning for more than a decade in the area of healthcare education under the guidance of top management led by Dr. Purshotam Lal. He is an internationally acclaimed Interventional cardiologist, a Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan. Along with Dr. BC Roy National Awardee, and Managing Director Dr Sonia Lal Gupta, Consultant Neurologist-Stroke/Headache Specialist. They have been very encouraging for the introduction of progressive courses in the area of health education. The students need to get a progressive degree at one single institute with maintaining the high standards of academics and professionalism.
What would you like people to know about your institute they may not know?
“Students get hands-on experience in a variety of healthcare institutes”
Our higher management are themselves eminent personalities in the area of Healthcare with vast experience of health services and treating the patients directly. They encourage the best practices in terms of education and infrastructure for the MCHSR. As already mentioned, the students get opportunities and exposure to varieties of practical education in different healthcare institutes directly owned by the parent management. I would also like people to know that the Metro Group has been playing a vital role in these challenge times. Our final year Nursing students have come forward and stood brave in the face of the pandemic. They served patients in Covid wards at different hospitals with utmost care and responsibility, which is the clear example of practice oriented education we deliver.
Any suggestions you would like to give to the aspiring students?
“In addition to seeking guidance from their seniors, students should have good network”
My advice to all the students is to believe in themselves and work judiciously hard. The more efforts they put into their education keeping abreast with the latest happenings in the field, the better their future would be. Appropriate networking will help them in getting a better idea of what's to come and how to prepare better for the future.
