Mr. Rajarshi Gyanadarshi is currently working as the Director of IMB School of Hospitality as well as serving as the Managing Trustee of IMB Group of Institutions. He is an alumnus of SOA University holding B.Tech. Degree in Comp Sc. & Engineering and currently pursuing PGDM program under IMB group. He has worked precisely 10 years in the IT domain. He is a young entrepreneur focusing mainly in the field of Hospitality Industry & Tourism Sector and streamlining the Industry in his state, to create awareness among the youth and to make them financially independent by giving jobs. He wants to fill the huge gap between demand and supply of trained professionals, which is required in the Tourism & Hospitality industries where there is 100% employment opportunity.

I followed my father’s footsteps and mastered skills to become a part of the education industry 

I started my career with the IT Industry before moving to the Education Sector. I have worked with various corporates. My late father was a pioneer in the field of Educational Institutions here in the capital city of Odisha. I practiced and mastered certain skills and decided to follow in his footprints to contribute to this industry with my hard work. Perhaps that ultimately also propelled me to continue to study further. And slowly I developed my passion to be an educator looking to build a professional career for future business leaders who would be shaping the destiny of India by bringing about economic development and prosperity to our great Nation.

I inherited the leadership qualities from my early days and that gave me a direction to move forward

I encourage my team to set goals that also focus on organizational goals. I also believe I have a good team who is self-capable of taking decisions. They are able to carry the responsibilities in a smooth manner. Whenever we have any critical decision making, I come forward and contribute in a precise manner. Being a true leadership, I believe one needs strong confidence, positive attitude, and good temperament in taking decisions.

We have high competition in the field of education here in Odisha

Lot of colleges are coming up with these courses understanding very well the requirements of this industry. But, I genuinely feel that today’s youth is not still aware how vast this Hospitality & Tourism industry is, and the level of opportunities and employment this sector can provide. We are focusing and nurturing our students to be flag-bearers of Tomorrow.

In Hospitality & Tourism Industry, a candidate needs to be driven in a good, structured manner

No doubt our country’s study culture focuses mainly on theory aspects specifically the syllabus that has been designed and prescribed by respective Universities whereas in foreign countries we get more practical exposure. And when it comes to the Hospitality & Tourism Industry, a candidate needs to be driven in a good, structured manner for getting more exposure in the practical field in order to have a good industry exposure before completing their respective courses. We are also sending candidates for Industrial training to multiple units in the form of internship in between their course completion to get a strong and practical experience before going head for placement in later semesters. We have installed highly equipped laboratories so as to give them a practical field. Our trainers are highly experienced and come with a good amount of experience from the Industry. We are also focusing on the communication skills which are equally very important in this industry.

Our curriculum is followed based on the University practices which is thoroughly designed following the current sector expectations. Both the sectors are in urgent need of trained professionals. As per various reports, there was an urgent need of more than 2.03 lakhs trained professionals for recruitment in Tourism & Hospitality Sector just before the COVID – 19 Pandemic that has temporarily affected the Industry very badly. The demand is growing steadily from year to year. As against such ever growing demand, only about 21,000 trained professionals are passing out presently from the existing Institutions in India. Considering such a huge gap between demand and supply of trained professionals in the Tourism & Hospitality industries, there is 100% employment opportunity even before passing out from IMB School of Hospitality to fit with the current Industry expectation.
