How do you strategize the key plans for the administration of your University?

”Enhanced structure for academic excellence and evaluation”

Our only objective is to provide quality education to our students. When we strive for about academic excellence, it should reflect in our student’s performances. For this we have created a centre of excellence, especially for the health sector, providing best education and public services simultaneously. Also, we have given an open course facility of CBCS (Choice Based Credit System) and we are doing continuous assessment based on class performance and practicals. Moreover, we are bringing the concept of ‘Learn & Earn’. As we have thought in agriculture and ayurveda, that student will work for some time, this will give them practical knowledge and they will get the share in profit as well.

How does the curriculum of your University ensure the best practice of industry?

”Choice based system and expert integration”

As a vice chancellor of the university, I have the freedom to develop curriculum according to the current market need and train students accordingly. Whatever School of studies & academic council, we have included some industry representatives in each group and develop our curriculum after discussing with these industry experts only. We have given full choice to the students. Along with course programs, we have provided them the facility to do a certificate course of their choice every year that can give them employment and also develop their skills. Also, we are incorporating the New Education Policy 2020 in our course structure and preparing students according to the industry requirements.

What do you think should be the University’s top priority over the next 05 years?

”Research, advance facilities and global collaborations”

We have made our target to focus our attention on research in the next 5 years. We wish to carry forward by research and development, and get NAAC grade. Also, our Ayurveda College has developed 5 medicines that we are going to patent soon. Similarly for Pharmacy, we aspire to develop our own Pharmaceutical Industry to provide training to students and supply local medicines at affordable rates. As new technologies and fields that have a good future are emerging like digital marketing, software engineering, data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence, we are working to have a Centre of Excellence for courses like B.Sc. (Artificial intelligence), B.com(Finance), etc. Also, we are looking forward to having tie-ups with other national and international colleges to have dual degree programs for our students. We also have a plan to work in the field of space technology in the near future.

What do you see as SAM Global University’s greatest strengths?

”Well-qualified administration, faculty and industrial support”

SAM group is running 17 colleges and now we come in the form of a university. Since we have been in the education sector for a very long time, it increases our strength already. The faculty that we have is highly qualified and has been working continuously for the betterment of organization and students. The retention rate of our faculty is 80%. The development that we gave to that faculty is giving us the benefit now. Apart from this, our strength is our management. Because our management is connected well with education for a very long time, so their only aim is to touch the height in field of education and R & D. We have well-qualified board and administrative members who are involved in constructive approaches for successful establishment and working of the Institution. We are working together with industry, we also have MOUs with several industries and have earned their support well.

What are some of the biggest challenges you see for higher education in India?

”Lack of interest, placements and faculty”

Today, the biggest problem in our country is that students are losing interest in studies. We have to look carefully in it and work hard for making the education interesting and industry oriented. Second, the arrangement of qualified faculty is also a concern. The development of faculty is as important as students’ themselves. Also, with the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, transformation into online learning and digital means have been quite challenging for the initial days. However, we trained our faculty and students and prepared rooms in which our faculty can provide learning easily.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the aspiring students?

”Must keep an attribute towards society”

Along with gaining knowledge, student must attain moral values as well. It is also the responsibility of the teachers to teach students the social and moral principles. Without these principals real life education is incomplete. I want to convey all the students that you have to first understand your responsibility towards society. And when you spend your next 50 year in the service of society and your family with selfless feeling, you become educated and above that a true human.

How do you tend to establish a healthy environment within your university?

”Inculcating positivity and strengthening student support system”

Healthy environment is very important for creating Positive energy should come from our university. We have created the environment that first ensures that any achievement should receive recognition and must be praised. Today, feelings of despair spread quickly among students, and they lose hope and excitement very soon. So we have created a dialogue potential and teacher guardian system. In this system, 1 teacher per 30 students are allotted and students stay connected with that teacher throughout the course. Teachers act as their parent, guardian and friend. We also give knowledge of yoga to our students because when students practice yoga and do meditation their will power increases, their mind power increases and they also remain healthy.
