Mrs. Ritu Kala is the HR Manager at the Institute of Hotel Management and Culinary Studies. With MBA in HR, Bachelors in Science and Bachelors in Education, she is a connecting cord between various teams of the institute. Along with administration, finance and human resource management related responsibilities she ensures active participation and contribution in educational and co curricular activities of the college. She handles the overall responsibility of Human Resource at IHMCS.

What is your managerial style and how do you coordinate with the various teams in the institute?

Taking every employees opinion into consideration & treating everyone with respect”

There is a saying that one size does not fit all, you need to be flexible and adapt your style to suit the employees and situation. I personally prefer the Democratic managerial style, as it invites employees in making decisions. In IHMCS we have various ventures which need different specialized skills. To coordinate with various teams, everyone has to be given the chance to participate and exchange ideas. Through this people can showcase their specialties and add to the outcome of the organization. 


What has been your vision and how are you trying to achieve the same?

“Practising inclusivity & knowledge sharing with everyone”

With rich experience in Retail, Sales, Administration, Corporate, and Education my vision is to share my knowledge and passion through work and volunteering to create a more inclusive world. 


Tell us about some initiatives run by IHMCS to motivate budding professionals in the field of hotel management?

“Various collaborative programs at national & international levels”

IHMCS has various such initiatives that keep the students and professionals motivated- 

  • Connecting Element - It is a magazine that covers the world of hospitality like never before. It showcases the latest trends and changes. With Connecting Elements, we want to showcase various components that the Hospitality Industry comprises of. 
  • Asha- Make a wish! - Has been initiated to lay down a process of assessment of overall development, learning, and participation of students in various academic and co-curricular activities, on basis of which, rewards, recognition, and opportunity to represent IHMCS on national and international platforms will be given to the ones who prove themselves worthy of it.
  • Pahal-Corporate social Responsibility- IHMCS conducts various CSR activities under the Campaign of Pehal. It has been actively engaged with NGOs like Aashray, Help Suffering Lives Society, etc. We are also into conducting awareness programs like career awareness, road safety.

How do you tend to establish a healthy relation and environment in your Institute?

I am fortunate to work with IHMCS. It has been an amazing journey to work with such a great team.

We have a forefront campus with well-defined and well-designed labs for all the four major departments to make the students aware of the Hospitality Industry along with a wide range of books from around the world. We have a team of professionals who have worked in the industry for more than five years and have good international exposure. We facilitate each student with modern facilities and amenities to make them feel comfortable while learning at our campus.

Excellent placements and abroad internships. IHMCS has strong links with many of the leading hospitality organizations in Jaipur and outside Jaipur. We ensure the students to give them an excellent placement and excellent organization for their training.

I work From enrolling the students in the university till the final degree ensuring smooth functioning. Provide guidance to students on academic goals and educational issues. Assisting students in course selection. Preparing and maintaining student records according to policies and regulations.
