What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

“Being an example for them to look up to”

The role of a leader is not just to lead but to guide and direct people in the right direction. Being an authoritative leader has never worked for me so I have always worked on being a paternal figure to the members. I make sure that they look at me as a solution-provider and come to me in times of crisis.

In your experience, what can an inbound student gain from studying here at your university?

“We put stress on human values and ethics before anything else”

Indian and foreign culture is indeed very different regarding education. While India has a very planned education system and curriculum, the foreign education system stresses more on the practical aspects and co-curricular activities along with mandatory participation in volunteer works. However, I’d like to add that in India we have sincerity, dedication, and discipline. Thus, an inbound student will not just gain knowledge but also values.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the University and the students are?

“Being the substitute of a parent while they are here”

My role to the students is to be their parent during college hours. I believe in being their friend so that they share their problems with me. It is my responsibility to check up on them now and then and make sure they are on the right track.

What do you think should be the University’s top priority over the next 10 years?

“Taking new initiatives towards development”

The first priority should be to fulfil all the posts of recruitment and simultaneously increase the placement rate. Next, it is important to introduce more vocational courses for the students. Vocational courses are believed to make studying enjoyable and increase the productivity of the students.

What are some of the biggest challenges you see, both for higher education in general and for KR Doshi Group specifically?

“Profiting off such a noble profession hinders true development”

The biggest challenge in higher education is that now it is being treated as a business. Educationists should carry the passion of selflessly serving the society and helping students with whatever they need. The quality of education should not be measured by the fee charged.
