Mr. Surya.P is the Founder and President of Backstage Pass Institute of Gaming and Technology. He graduated from the Vancouver Film School in 2003. He has over 16 years of experience in animation, visual effects and game development. Has worked as a Technical Director for some elite companies such as Firefly Creative Studies and Innova Solutions.

We want each student of our institution to become the best in all gaming aspects

We have inculcated various aspects in our courses which include interest-free loans to all the students from various economic backgrounds to become game developers. 

We have expanded our reach to Pune and Bangalore, as well as shifted our campus to a much larger spacious campus this year in Hyderabad. Our laboratory facilities have been further updated. Currently, we are working on helping students build their games under mentor supervision, which are then marketed and published by us. The revenue generated through their games is shared by the whole team.

We follow a mentorship approach that gives a personalized learning experience

We are affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University (JNAFAU). Therefore, we follow the curriculum and guidelines of the university. In addition to the courses approved by the Academic Committee of University, we provide some non- credit courses to make students future-ready and to meet the industry standards. We also follow a mentorship approach to teaching that gives a personalized learning experience to our students.

Our students hail from all parts of India therefore,they get exposure from different people and different cultures. In our college, game programmers, artists, and designers are all under one roof facilitating mutual learning by sharing ideas and collaborating to build games. The students get merit discounts and scholarships up to 10%. We support female students in a male dominated industry, we offer 15% fee discounts for women. We assist in providing 0% interest student loans that can be repaid with ease so as to enable students from all economic backgrounds to enroll in our courses.

The main problem since our inception has been a lack of awareness in the general public about the opportunities in the gaming industry, and how a career in game development is intensely lucrative for the current generation. Many colleges offer game development courses along with other courses therefore, they do not concentrate on teaching the fundamentals of each concept which leads to students containing mediocre skillset.
