NTPC School of Business works under the mentorship of IIM Ahmedabad. Involvement of these two big establishments is more than sufficient to speak about the excellence of the B-school. Currently, two full-time AICTE approved courses are run by the school. They are –

  • Fifteen-months Postgraduate Diploma in Management (Executive) and
  • Twenty-four months ‘ Postgraduate Diploma in Management'(Energy Management).

NTPC School of Business gets academic support from IIM Ahmedabad. Students of NSB get guidance from the faculties of IIMA including the director of IIMA. The first-year course curriculum of NTPC School of Business is at par with IIM Ahmedabad. The studies in the school are conducted on the basis of the case study method, which was started by Harvard business school.

The B-school has adopted that methodology in its course curriculum. In this method of study, the students get very wide knowledge and concept about the know how’s of different industrial sectors. Through this method, students are pushed to think like a corporate person and they are guided to take decisions by the faculties of IIM Ahmedabad and NSB as well. The sessions are very interactive and each of the students does participate in the discussion, students freely propose their ideas and then they are taught the process of defending those ideas by the faculties of IIMA and NSB. No other institution in India other than IIMA follows this kind of rigorous case study method of study in their B-School. This is the first specialty of this institute.

This B-school conducts very frequent guest lecturers of eminent personalities from Central Electricity Regulatory Commission, BHEL, NTPC, NHPC, ONGC, TERI, TATA POWER, PGCIL, DRDO, Mahindra and Mahindra, India Energy Exchange Ltd., Power Exchange India Ltd., PwC, Reliance Infrastructure, and other big organizations. Frequent round table meetings are organised on sustainability in the energy and power sector in India, human resource improvement and many others where chief guests come from Ministry of Power, Government of India, State electricity boards, Chief HR officers of schedule A PSUs and big MNCs to guide students for developing and upgrading their skills as required by the industry. After every session, each of the students is required to prepare a learning journal and those are evaluated by the faculties of NSB and IIMA. This is the second specialty of this institute and course.

Next comes the most important factor in life and that is ‘Stress’. Managing stress in everyday life is very important. The school conducts various sessions to help its students to understand the ways to reduce stress. These sessions help students to keep their nerve strong even at most adverse conditions in life. Very few institutes in India conduct these kinds of sessions. This is the third specialty of this institute and course.

The location of this B-school is another advantage. The institute is located at the heart of Noida, which is the industrial hub of NCR. There will be enough opportunities for the students to get internships and placements. Institute provides enough support to develop and upgrade the skills required for placement in different industrial sectors and also the B-school provides placement assistance to all the self-sponsored students of PGDM (EM) and PGDM (E).
