Mr. Vaibhav Sharma is the Director of Ramanand Institute, Haridwar. He is a Commerce Graduate from University of Delhi, and a Postgraduate in Management. He has a penchant for teaching and has spent considerable time in the education sector. He Started as a Management Trainee in a leading Solicitor firm in Delhi. He groomed others to be good managers by establishing their own company in the Mortgages, Banking, and Insurance sector in collaboration with leading Banks and Insurance companies of India. He portrays his thoughts and ideas about education, his institution and students in this interview. 


We make sure students attain global knowledge and practical experience while carrying out tasks

Answer 2- We, at Ramanand Institute, have always tried to give students exposure to everything. If somebody is a pharmacy student then we try to get him involved with students from management for working in seminars or in preparing a presentation that is the practical part of life. We don’t focus only on the books, though books are important but students must get global knowledge of everything once he/she gets into the market with skills that are demanded in the market. We focus on overall education and skills.


Students are encouraged to take part in co-curricular activities to enhance their skills

Such activities at Ramanand are counted as co-curricular activities as they are part of the syllabus and enhance a student’s skills. Motivating and getting students into sports, meditation and yoga along with teaching them Indian culture is carried out at Ramanand. We celebrate our annual function with a mix of sports meet and cultural fest which goes on for a week with 3-4 days of sports and 3-4 days of culture. Pharmacy students have their seminars and management students have their workshops and exhibitions along with other activities.

We only believe in spreading education to the students whom it may not reach

The greatest strength of Ramanand Institute is our low cost education. We don’t believe in business. We only believe in spreading education to the students whom it may not reach. We don’t focus on money. A student who does not belong to a financially good background but has scored good marks gets free education at Ramanand Institute.


 It is essential to be lucid about the work environment and assigning the task to the people 

I believe in teamwork and assigning appropriate work to the appropriate person. I also believe in efficiency and transparency. I follow transparency with all my teachers as well as Head of Departments so they are transparent with me and listen to me.


Students should learn the etiquettes of learning rather than focussing on marks

When it comes to my institute, the biggest challenge is to keep the students focussed. They are not focussed what they really want to do with studies. Maximum of the students are happy scoring numbers than to understand what actually they want from life.

I assure the students that they are motivated enough to strive for excellence

I often meet the students and go to their classes. I just want them to be confident, to be , what we say is a management fool , jack of all types , at least they are not fools when they are at a party or a group meeting. I understand the ground reality to know what is going around, motivate them and assure that they are focussed, and striving for excellence.
