What is your philosophy of leadership?

“Commitment, Determination and Passion”

I believe in working in coordination with all the team members and inculcating in them professional values of dedication and commitment for any role. I am passionate about spreading and achieving goals that are for the overall benefit of the organization. I nurture my teammates and students, and emphasize on what’s important and fruitful for their growth.

How does the curriculum of MLR ensure the best practice of industry?

“Implementing new technologies and expertise from industry”

We are focusing on best curriculum matching with the industry and placements of students in a wider context. In that way, we have a Board of study that inculcates industry experts and subject matter experts from various institutions and IITs, and even roll our old students who are working in various agencies. In addition, we do brainstorming to implement and bring in new technologies into the curriculum like recently incorporated cybersecurity, IoT and 3D printing. These at the same time reflect a positive impact on the placements as well. More skilled individuals with diverse knowledge are hired readily in the job market.

What do you think should be the Institute’s top priority over the next five years?

“Placements, affiliations and startups”

Firstly, we would like to give the highest placements, particularly in the companies like Google and Microsoft, within five years, to the maximum possible students we can. As we are growing in the line of emerging areas of study and market place, we would like to go for a University affiliation by enhancing the quality of education and research. Also, we aspire to have in-house startups for students and faculty, and would like to create an impact in the startup industry as well.

What would you like people to know about MLR that they may not?

“Academic integrations and advance infrastructure”

MLR Institute of Technology is an autonomous institution having an NBA correlation with NBA Taiwan accredited College. Moreover, we have an Aeronautical Engineering program equipped with a flight simulation lab, that helps students know about all the dynamics of taking off and landing of flights with all the composite materials and features. In addition to these two departments, even CSE, we have a center of excellence from virtusa, that trains the faculty and faculty in turn train our students. And also, we have a tie up with IIT Hyderabad for research, collaborations and exchange of faculty courses, and courses in the teaching part.

What are some of the biggest challenges you see for higher education at MLR?

“Digital transformation and entrepreneurship in the education sector”

The trends in the education sector are changing at a greater pace with online software upgradation and adoption of technologies, even in the teaching methodologies. So I am trying to pull my team into this direction and make transformations for the benefit of students. This has proved to be a challenging task for all of us. Also, nowadays, startups, innovation and incubation are coming up with full potential. Although arranging adequate resources and facilities to train the faculty and students in that direction is quite challenging. At MLR Institute of Technology, we were able to incubate six startups as on date, and another eight are in a pre incubation state. These are the seeds we need to catch the market.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the aspiring students?

“Utilize your resources and technology mindfully”

There are great dynamics of technology, and in the education sector, it has been adopted extensively for the past few years, and has proved to be super successful. However, this technology has also been a source of distraction, especially for young children and youth. So what I would like to advise to all the aspirants is that they should not distract and move away from their paths, and do not lose your focus. All these gadgets and technology must not give a different direction to the students so as what to do, but must create a forwardness towards their definite direction.
