What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

“Growing together is my philosophy of leadership”

Dissemination of powers, making the employees understands the responsibilities, involving student representatives in decision making are my leadership style.

As a leader, I personally feel that I work for my associates and it is my role to assist them in achieving their success and goals. I always try to set a good example for my faculty members and students. I believe in exemplifying respect allowing others to have their say whether I agree with it or not. I believe I exhibit integrity. I strive to allow each person on my team to showcase their unique abilities and skills. These, I believe have been my key to success and as my leadership style.

My leadership style is based on optimistic thoughts to deal with difficult situations in a stress-free manner and involves teamwork. A leader should always be ready to face challenges. Such challenges create new opportunities to formulate unique solutions.

How do you strategize about the key programs and plans for the marketing and administration of your school?

“We make sure to leverage our opportunities”

We effectively manage our institution's marketing and administration on various domains, few among them are: Centralized Strategy and Reporting, Use Digital Marketing and Automation, Personalizing Content Sharing, build a digital-friendly approach, etc.

We make sure to inculcate different key aspects to uplift and reach organizational goals. For the same we identify goals and develop strategies. We leverage our institution’s online presence. Also, we make sure to do need assessment and allocation of resources in accordance with the demands.

How does the curriculum of your college ensure the best practice of industry?

“We constantly update our curriculum according to industry developments”

We continuously research and take feedback from the industry experts on the industry changes, which will be carefully reviewed by the Board of Studies and approved by the Academic Council's expert panel.

  • Providing credits to the students undergoing internship in industries
  • Framing the curriculum based on the latest industrial needs by involving experts from industries. 
  • Inviting industry experts to provide exposure to the students
  • Encouraging start-up companies to avail our incubation facilities at our University
  • Conducting training programmes to students and faculties to enhance their skill sets.
“Through the Mahatma Gandhi Scholarship scheme, toppers from each state among the applicants of the Vel Tech Entrance Examination (VTUEEE) attain a 100% Tuition and Hostel fee waiver. Moreover, through EDCIL, we cater to International students, and special student exchange programs are also offered in Countries like France.”

What do you think should be the University’s top priority over the next 10 years?

“We want to achieve the status of a premier institute in the near future”

The higher education system of our country is facing an unprecedented transformation in the coming decade. This transformation is accelerated by the economic and demographic changes due to the impact of Covid-19 on a global level. Shaping and mentoring our students as a responsible Global Citizen is our top priority.

To achieve this goal, we concentrate on developing all aspects of our institution, such as constructing world class teaching and learning practices, research and innovation activity, cross Cultural Learning, International Outlook, Enterprise Education & Entrepreneurship and so on.

What are some of the biggest challenges you see, both for higher education in general and for your institution specifically?

“There are multiple factors that cause major hindrances in the education sector”

Based on my experience and observation, let me present the below points which I personally considered as the biggest challenge of higher education

  • Students Enrolment for higher education is very low when compared with other developing and developed countries in the world.
  • Impact in territorial varieties affect the students enrolment for higher education
  • Due to more number of players in the field, the students and parents are misguided to choose the right institution to construct their career.
  • Concentrating on Higher Education Quality to the world class is the need of the hour.
  • Development of Geographical indication for the educational sector should be assembled by the concerned authority at the national level.
  • Even though we speak more about international collaboration still we need to develop the linkage with the foreign collaboration with top institutions in the developed countries.
