Mr. Pawan Yadav is Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Engineering Department at Pragati College, Raipur. He completed his B. Sc. in Electronics, M. Sc. in Physics, B. Ed., and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. He has been Project Fellow at Bhilai Institute Technology, Assistant Professor at Shail Devi Mahavidyalaya, and Lab Assistant at BEC. He has attended various Workshops at Eco Club Ignition Program, Center for Nano Science and Engineering IISc, and Narayana Institute of Advanced Science. His Skills include Programming Language C, C++, QBasic, and Fortran. He also has good knowledge of Web Technology, Multimedia, and Online Teaching App.
What are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?
“To ensure the development of the college teaching and learning process”
Being the faculty of the college, I have the responsibility to obey the code of conduct of the college and ensure the development of the college through the teaching and learning process. As we know the teaching-learning process is only for the all over development of students which includes physical and mental development. For physical development, a sports facility is provided and for mental development, we go through the particular curriculum. These different activities are conducted like singing, dancing, group discussion, debate, extempore, drama and ensure participation in intercollegiate sport and cultural activities. I have the responsibility to conduct a physics laboratory to perform practical work. We ensure the demonstration of theories and principles of physics. I have a responsibility to understand the problem of students to enhance the learning process.
How do you tend to establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?
“Maintaining Mutual respect among students and faculty is the key for establishing a healthy relationship”
Mutual respect is a key factor to build healthy relationships with students and fellow faculty. A friendly atmosphere tends to enhance the relationship, through these students interacting with teachers without fear, and they share their problems. We interact with parents from time to time to build effective, better teaching-learning processes and share progress reports of students to parents. To establish relationships with fellow faculty I build close relationships with them based on respect, help, professional cooperation, and collaboration. It increases mutual trust. Institute organizes a teacher training program that provides proper information to build healthy relationships. We try to resolve all conflicts of interest peacefully and professionally. And ensure a family-like environment where every teacher obeys their duty freely and honestly.
How do you make the Course Curriculum industry-oriented?
“To bridge the gap between the practical and theoretical skills of students”
Being a physics teacher I ensure I perform as much as possible with instruments available in college, so that students may properly understand the concept of science. All types of instruments related to electrical, mechanical, thermodynamics, and optical physics are available and performed to understand the theories and principles of physics. All physics practicals are industrial oriented like practical on a laser that is being used in communication, cutting and fabrication of material, practical with semiconductor devices i.e. diode transistors used in all electronic devices, mechanical experiments also performed to determine elasticity, rigidity. Experiments on fluid were also performed to determine viscosity. Besides this wavelength determination of light through different methods performed, also practical related to sound is performed i.e. sonometer. All these practicals have industrial uses.

Do you have any extracurricular programs to enhance the skills of the students?
“Provide students with Skill enhancing programs to expose them to real-world challenges”
To enhance the skills of the students or expose them to the real-world challenges related to software we organize a Workshop/ Seminar on python, Java, ethical hacking, etc. to enhance the software skill of students and also recommends joining internship programs conducted by software companies or other organizations that collaborate with our college. We organize industrial visit programs with the help of CSIDC to make aware of the production process in the industry. In previous years we visited CAPS, PARLE companies. We invite experts to deliver lectures to enhance our knowledge of core science and make us aware of future challenges. Except all this, we conducted awareness programs on social and health issues like Women’s rights, Child development, Covid -19, Child labor, unemployment, water harvesting, Cleanness. We organize a Vaccination program with the help of the state government and university.
What are the challenges you faced to uplift the quality of education of your department?
“Limited resources, funds, and a low teacher-student ratio are the biggest challenges faced by me”
There are many challenges described below:
- Limited resources and funding to maintain laboratories, and perform academic activities: if proper maintenance work is done then students give satisfactory performance and learn more about practicals. Proper funding for different activities is utilized for the prize and other management then students get motivated.
- Low teacher-student number ratio: its UGC in norms to maintain proper student-teacher ratio to remove the overload and extra burden of work on a single teacher.
- There should be a flexible environment for teachers.
What do you see as the college’s greatest strengths and how it can be enhanced?
“Experienced Teachers are the college’s greatest strengths”
College’s greatest Strength and main pillar of any college and society are teachers. Teachers never share their problems with anyone and obey their responsibility honestly. Education institutes must act like they are society makers. If teachers get all types of respect and value for their work then they can work more efficiently. Private College management must rectify all the professional issues. If all support is provided to teachers then they can be better involved in the teaching-learning process. Any type of professional condition resists teachers to perform well. College performance based on teacher and management preformation can be better if both works properly. The skill of a teacher can be enhanced through a teacher training program so it should be conducted from time to time.

What advice would you like to the students for them to have a prosperous career ahead?
“Students should be focused towards their aim and work consistently for it”
My advice to students for their prosperous careers is to stay focused on their aim and work consistently to achieve success. A diverted mind and aimless effort have no meaning. This type of effort is a waste of valuable time as well as money. There will be no satisfaction toward work and job. To enhance productivity, it is necessary to work consistently and focus on the aim. People work honestly and enjoy their work hence new ideas come to mind, curiosity and creativity increase. Science students must make a target to qualify NIMCET, JAM, CUCET, VET to get entry in center universities, NIT, and IITs. Students who are willing to qualify UPSC, CGPSC, VYAPAM must prepare parallelly with graduation classes and go through the syllabus of the desired target.
