You have held key positions at education institutes throughout your professional career. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

Teaching and research are my passions. As an educator, I don’t just teach students, I also have to keep upskilling and learning the current trends.

Being the HOD of MSCAS College, what is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

I believe I am best suited to make decisions and lead the team. I intend to inspire and lead through action. I will provide my team with instruction and action to meet the needs of the institution.

Being the HOD of MSCAS College, how do you strategize about the key programs and plans for the marketing and administration of your school?

"It’s easy to get sidetracked when great ideas pop up"

Marketing plans are the roadmap to success for our College, keeping you on track with your initiatives throughout the year and, ideally, the next several years. It’s easy to get sidetracked when great ideas pop up, but like on a road trip you’ll never reach your destination if you keep adding new stops along the way. 

The education systems in India and other foreign countries are structured very differently. In your experience, what can an inbound student gain from studying here in your institute?

"The Indian education system teaches students how to apply knowledge to real-world situations"

The Indian education system is BEST because I think a quality education is teaching students how to think critically and independently. It instills in students a passion for learning. It exposes students to different ways of thinking. It teaches students how to apply knowledge to real-world situations. It teaches students how to learn.

Any insights into how your College could be more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

"Interacting with a diverse group of people provides many opportunities to learn from others"

The course curriculum is not the only source of knowledge in college. Studies have shown that the learning environment becomes more robust with the addition of new material in the form of fresh viewpoints. Interacting with a diverse group of people provides many opportunities to learn from others who bring a different perspective colored by a different life experience. This type of exposure increases your capacity for exploring ideas and solutions based on different perspectives or vantage points. 

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the College and the students are?

"The best feeling of happiness is knowing you’re the reason for others’ smiles"

Student social responsibility mainly focuses on taking responsibility for one’s actions. It is a promise everyone should make for society while working for social, cultural, and ecological causes. The best feeling of happiness is knowing you’re the reason for others’ smiles.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

"People can criticize you, people can judge you, but keep doing it for you"

Don’t be too hard on yourself. No one is perfect and everyone makes mistakes. Mistakes are what make you stronger. Forgive yourself for your mistakes and learn from them. It matters now, it’s your life and you will live it the way you want. People can criticize you, people can judge you, but keep doing it for you. You should do whatever you want in your life. 

How do you tend to establish a healthy relationship and environment in your institute?

Relationships are the positive connections between students, adults, and peers that foster positive social interaction and establish a nurturing environment of trust and support in College.
