Dr. Sarita Goel is the Director of the Samalkha Group Of Institutions, Panipat, Haryana. She did a Doctorate degree, served as a Chartered Accountant and served the industry for nearly seven years. She is an experienced and dedicated professional in the field of higher education. 

She also worked as Assistant professor, professor and subsequently as the Director of the institute since 2015. Her vast experience in industry helped her to deliver the students industry oriented teaching methodology. Additionally, a wonderful teacher is an excellent guide and a mentor for the students or fellow teachers. She has a long list of her national and international publications to learn every day. Her varied experience makes her a desired person in the teaching industry.

You have held key positions at education institutes throughout your professional career. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“Information, literacy, equal access to education and learning from practice keeps me connected with the education sector”

I have been working as an Assistant Professor, Professor, Head of the Department and subsequently as the Director of the institute during these 13 years of teaching. Some of the factors that keep me connected with the education sector are Information Literacy, application of talents and equal access to education to all. Other factors include experience between Teachers, Individualization of education methodology and learning from best practices. 

Being the principal of SGl, what is your philosophy of leadership and describe your leadership style?

“Follows a direct and leading leadership style for pupils”

I would describe my leadership style as direct, and leading. I enjoy delegating tasks and taking the lead on projects. But, I also like to stay involved and inspire my team by showing that I'm working hands-on to help them. When my team sees me working hard, it makes them realize the importance of the issue and work hard as well.

Being the principal of SGI, how do you strategize about the key programs and plans for the marketing or administration of campus?

“Develop long-term communication strategy, use marketing automation and reporting for campus administration”

 The Strategies are almost the same for the marketing and administration. In contrast, the implementation part is vital according to the available market for the particular institute. Some of the basics include active presence on social media, focus on unique selling points and develop a long-term communication strategy. We optimize targeted searches, centralize strategy, reporting and use marketing automation for the campus administration. 

The education systems in India and other foreign countries are structured very differently. In your experience, what can an inbound student gain from studying in Samalkha Group Of Institutions, Panipat?

“Organize internships, training to guide students and give placements”

The Indian education system focuses more on theory rather than practical. At SGl, we have various internship and training opportunities to help the student to learn while doing and make them a better professional. In India, education is a formality and part of routine. Every student must get a degree of Engineering or Medical stream irrelevant to his interest. Our campus gives regular interaction with students before and after admission about his interest to guide in the right direction. In India, students are admitted into streams which have a higher pay scale or number of jobs. Every student has a number of options and offers letters on our campus through various placement. Students are required to memorize facts and figures in India. Our campus organizes workshops of all streams to support them to learn while doing. They do not have to cram things but they enjoy the learning process.

We are affiliated to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra which is A+ NAAC accredited University and established in 1956. It is the oldest university of Haryana with a vast Alumni base. Our University updates its curriculum according to the recent trends of the market.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities are to Samalkha Group Of Institutions, Panipat and students?

“To give interactive educational programs, FDPs, and impart academic enhancement programs to students”

My basic role is to develop unique, interactive educational programs and various courses for the students. We manage the best faculty resources, administrative staff, develop and implement faculty development programs. Develop and implement academic enhancement programs for students and entire staff members. Our campus implements a forward thinking approach to all. 

What do you think is the University's top priority over the next 10 years?

“Advance education, knowledge, wisdom and more opportunities to students in emerging years”

We decide to expand leadership, community, and cultural development opportunities for students. One of our priorities in the upcoming year is to advance education, knowledge and wisdom for the good of society.

When you first came to SGl, what was your vision for the campus?

“To practice engineering and management as a student's career is our vision for campus”

Our vision is to evolve campus as the state of art for the students striving to practice engineering and management as their career. We are still on the same route and hopefully achieving a milestone very soon.
